June Panic spent six years in the early 90s crafting fourteen disturbed and sonically self-mutilated albums that would make him the closest thing to an underground rock songwriting celebrity. While scratching an itch for Dylan, June willed his bedroom songs into musical nuggets that find tonal residence between the hazy fog of Ween and Sebadoh, the great white isolationism of Eric's Trip, and the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink production style of 80s-era Prince. Originally released as cassette only on his tag, 3 Out of 4 Records, June's lo-fi master tapes for InchSongs from PurgatoryInch were almost destroyed in a flood, but have been cleansed and re-mastered.

One of the greatest and most underrated singers of her time, June Christy is best known for her work in the cool Jazz genre. Christy first rose to prominence with the Stan Kenton Orchestra in 1945, then began to pursue a solo career starting in 1947. In 1954 Christy released a 10Inch LP entitled InchSomething CoolInch which became instrumental in launching the cool vocal movement of the 1950 s. Presented here is a fitting tribute to Ms. Christy featuring Les Brown & His Band of Renown performing songs associated with Christy. June Christy herself appears on three tracks, InchI'll Remember April,Inch InchI'll Take RomanceInch and InchSeptember Song.Inch Les Brown's vocalist Jo Ann Greer appears on the other vocal selections. All selections newly re-mastered.

Available again after 15 years, The Medicine still stands today as one of the most influential underground indie / emo records to date hailing from our lost millennium. Riding the front row of national tours with bands like Elliott and Built To Spill The Jazz June created an untouchable musical legacy that slowly faded into the background of life after 911, when the US moved into post America along with the collapse of the music industry. A side project by front man Andrew Lowe appeared called Snakes and Music in the mid 2000's but never caught on the way The Jazz June had captured the essence of the second wave of emo / indie. As a punch line, indie tag darling TOP SHELF RECORDS systematically helped revive the band in their effort to continue to rebuild legacy 2nd wave emo acts for their roster, and released a new Jazz June full length to much fan fare and publicity in the fall of 2014.
