The Kill Team - DVD

Afghanistan, 2009 After their commanding officer was killed, young Pvt. Andrew Briggman (Nat Wolff) and his unit received the intense Sgt. Deeks (Alexander Skarsgård) for a topkick. As the new superior began to show the depravity below the surface-having his men murder local civilians, and frame them as insurgents-Briggman faced both moral conflict and mortal danger. Intense, fact-inspired effort co-stars Adam Long, Jonathan Whitesell, Osy Ikhile, and Rob Morrow. 87 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

A hundred years before the internet gave us nerd culture, there was Hugo Gernsback. Even though few remember him today, the eccentric inventor foresaw how technology would shape our lives.

Kill ZoneInch - known overseas as InchSha Po LangInch is one of the most stunning Hong Kong action films made since the 80's. Working in the noirish style of John Woo, the film is populated with corrupt cops and evil crime lords. Long established martial arts star Donnie Yen plays a policeman assigned to go after a crime boss (Sammo Hung) and bring him down by any means necessary. Unlike Woo's films, the action here is geared to martial arts battles, not gunplay, and the filmmakers set out to one-up OngBak with some incredible fight scenes. Martial arts fans should jump at this, and will happily find that the story is every bit as engaging as the fight sequences.
