In rural Kent of the late '50s, eccentric patriarch Pop Larkin (Bradley Marsh) led his large brood in simple labor and finagling, living well off the proceeds-and not paying any taxes. Hapless revenue inspector Cedric Charlton (Tok Stephens) had to cope with their lifestyle-and the attentions of lovely eldest daughter Mariette (Sabrina Bartlett)-in this lively ITV redo of InchThe Darling Buds of MayInch; Joanna Scanlan, Lydia Page, Liam Middleton, Lola Shepelev, Davinia and Rosie Coleman co-star.7 episodes on 2 discs. 7 hra. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
Welcome to England's most murderous county... The English village mystery gets a contemporary spin in this hit British television series. Bucolic settings harbor macabre crimes and eccentric characters that are no match for nice-guy detective Tom Barnaby (John Nettles, BERGERAC) and his eager assistant, Sergeant Troy (Danie l Casey, THE WINGLESS BIRD). Charming locations, dry humor, and an outstanding ensemble cast have earned the series a worldwide following.
With the son she raised alone headed to university, coastal town restaurateur Pearl Nolan (Kerry Godliman) had time on her hands-and she chose to fill it by running a private detective agency out of the kitchen. The odd investigations she tackles in her picturesque community, and the attendant head-butting with late-of-London DCI Mike McGuire (Howard Charles), fuel this effort based on the Julie Wassmer novels. Rohann Nedd, Frances Barber, Sophia Del Pizzo co-star.6 episodes on 2 discs. 6 hrs. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
