About this product
Since the of their debut studio album Do Hollywood (on 4AD) in 2016, The Lemon Twigs-the New York City rock band fronted by brothers Brian (27) and Michael D'Addario (25)-have waved the same revivalist torch as Alex Chilton and his Big Star crew, working to prove that archaic music from the '60s and '70s can still be relevant in digital world. Alongside peers like Foxygen and Drugdealer, The Lemon Twigs have explicitly documented a synchronistic blend of contemporary narrative motifs, old-school recording techniques, and flawless, consistent attitudes collaged from various crucial stages of rock 'n' roll. After a whirlwind 2023, the D'Addarios are continuing the momentum of their own evolving vision and voice, distilling a history lesson of baroque and power pop into A Dream Is All We Know (out May 3 on Captured Tracks).Garnering the top-to-bottom critical acclaim the brother's have long deserved, their 2023 LP Everything Harmony was spearheaded by an impressive string of singles, including InchCorner Of My Eye,Inch InchAny Time of Day,Inch InchIn My Head,Inch and InchEvery Day Is the Worst Day of My LifeInch and some imaginative, delightful deep cuts like InchWhat You Were DoingInch and InchGhost Run Free.Inch It was the kind of record that put all of Brian and Michael's talents on display, be it the former's multi-instrumentalist gifts or the latter's boyish, explosive pop-rock charisma and eye for engineering and vocal layering. But A Dream Is All We Know is not the acoustic, nylon string-based project that Everything Harmony was. Instead, it's a return to the form The Lemon Twigs first introduced on Do Hollywood-an electric guitar-centric, anthemic assemblage of, really, everything the band does great. These two companion records are an immediate example of a band capitalizing on their fire-in-the-belly appetite to make tunes that boast ubiquitous chemistry. A D

New York duo The Lemon Twigs return with their first new since 2020's 'Songs For The General Public'. On 'Everything Harmony', their fourth full-length studio , the prodigiously talented brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario offer 13 original servings of beauty that showcase an emotional depth and musical sophistication far beyond their years as a band, let alone as young men. Album Tracks 1. When Winter Comes Around 2. In My Head 3. Corner of My Eye 4. Any Time of Day 5. What You Were Doing 6. I Don't Belong to Me 7. Every Day Is the Worst Day of My Life 8. The Lemon Twigs' two previous Captured Tracks albums, A Dream Is All We Know (2024) and Everything Harmony (2023), certainly indicated something of a ground zero in their then five album career. InchIt was the beginning of making records that we would listen to ourselves,Inch says Michael D'Addario, the younger Twig brother, now aged 26. By the time of A Dream Is All We Know and the future Michael classic InchMy Golden YearsInch, The Lemon Twigs' new era had truly begun. And now comes the third Lemon Twigs album for Captured Tracks, Look For Your Mind!, which underneath it's poppy exterior contains an undercurrent of paranoia and suspicion.Opening with title track InchLook For Your MindInch, a jangly Michael number, the listener is introduced to the guitar-driven harmony sound that is the centering theme of the album. Much of what was achieved on A Dream Is All We Know is here, just more laser focused. It's classic Twigs, indebted to the golden age of guitar pop, but in no way slavish.New to this album is the inclusion of live Twigs Reza Matin (drums) and Danny Ayala (bass), as well as Eva Chambers of Tchotchke, to the rhythm section. With the brothers previously having handled everything in the studio themselves, this shows a newfound sense of freedom. InchGather RoundInch is one of Look For Your Mind!'s bigger productions. A Brian song with joyous orchestrations, it feels like a turn of the century campaign song. The writer is looking for an uncorrupted leader, but resolves that collective action is the only way forward. Musically it's ornate and delightfully 1967, but the mood and sentiment is distinctly 2026. InchEvery time we try to write something that's completely straightforward, we can't help adding an element which comes out of left field.Inch explains Brian.Brian's InchFire And GoldInch starts off with a ringing power pop riff before turning everything insi
Album Tracks 1. I Wanna Prove to You 2. Those Days Is Comin' Soon 3. Haroomata 4. Baby, Baby 5. These Words 6. As Long As We're Together 7. How Lucky Am I? 8. Hi+Lo 9. Frank 10. A Great Snake
