The Marvelettes - Very Best - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Detroit native Marv Johnson held the rare distinction of performing on the first record ever to be issued from what would become the Motown tag. His career was marked by many major successes with hit singles in the US, Australia and the UK. In the late 80's he joined the ranks of London based Motorcity Records, whose aim was to albums by former Motown artists. This compilation focuses on the best of those recordings. All tracks have been newly remastered.

The Contours were one of the first Soul music groups on the Motown tag. The group stayed together with minor personnel changes after leaving Motown and remained a viable act well into the 90's. in the late 80's, following the success of the inclusion of their big hit InchDo You Love MeInch on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, they joined British producer Ian Levine's massive Motown reunion Motorcity Records project. This compilation focuses on their biggest successes for the tag. All tracks have been newly remastered.
