Michael W. Smith returns with a new full-length Christmas album titled InchEvery ChristmasInch, which includes 6 songs from his 2022 EP InchChristmas At HomeInch woven together with 6 new songs that wrap this nostalgic, family-focused project into a beautiful completion. Michael says of the album Inch(Every Christmas) takes Christmas at Home to a new level, with some beautiful, magical new surprises, including some of my favorite hymns.Inch Michael co-produced Every Christmas with his son, Tyler Michael Smith. His daughters Whitney Mooring and Anna Smith are also featured throughout the project. The family focus is fitting, as the songs on this album paint a picture of all of the merriment of the holiday season and Christmas memories made with the ones we hold dear. We are excited for you to hear this album - and hope these songs set the scene for new Christmas memories to come.

Composer Jurgis Karnavicius (1884-1941) made significant contributions to the cultural life in Lithuania after returning back to his home country in the late 1920s. Karnavicius was a pupil Maximilian Steinberg at the St. Peterburg Conservatory later becoming a professor in his alma mater. During his years in St. Petersburg, the composer wrote four impressive String Quartets, filling the chronological and stylistic gap between the String Quartets of Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich. Karnavicius' String Quartet No. 1 was published by Belaieff. It's folkloristic elements bring to mind the late quartets of Dvorák. Karnavicius' second Quartet, written a few years later and distributed by Universal Edition Vienna, already shows first signs of a shift towards Expressionism. In this album the Lithuanian Vilnius String Quartet offer world premiere recordings of these two forgotten gems.

We suggest that few bands from an ostensibly Inchindie rockInch background should Christmas music, if not out of respect for the holiday or material then at least out of a sense of self-esteem. Low, however, were made for this. Their attention to musical detail combined with the heavenly vocal harmonies of Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker are perfectly attuned to both traditional carols like 'Silent Night' and more contemporary tunes such as 'Blue Christmas'. Now this is a recording you can pull out to pre-empt another dose of Bing Crosby or Englebert Humperdink. Christmas contains a selection of seasonal songs, including four originals by the band, mostly recorded at Low's 20º Below studio in Duluth, MN. 'If You Were Born Today' and 'Blue Christmas' were released as a 7 inch single in 1997 on the English Wurlitzer Jukebox tag, while 'Taking Down the Tree' is taken from a 1998 compilation of live recordings issue by the Dutch VPRO radio station.
