Inchsee you on the beach!Inch. This classic Jamaican party album was recorded in 1967on Duke Inchthe TrojanInchReid's Treasure Isle tag. It sold well locally and saw a UK where it was a hit on the hugely popular ska and soul scene. It pre-dates the reggae boom and defines the short-lived rocksteady era fusing down beat ska with doo-wop and angst-drenched soulful vocals. The Paragons, featuring the signature vocals of lead singer John Holt, have been compared to a laid-back Four Tops with a tinge of Beach Boys thrown in. Whatever your view there is certainly an R&B flavour in the vocal harmonies and it's easy to see why this sought-after album is at the foundation of any Northern Soul or reggae collection. The soulfulness of The Paragons is no more apparent on Harry Belafonte's classic 'Island In The Sun', 'Happy-Go-Lucky Girl, Only a Smile' and their original feel-good recording of 'The Tide Is High' which became an international hit for Blondie in 1980.A fabulous rocksteady record underpinned by the super-tight session band Tommy McCook and The Supersonics.

- Originally recorded at the famed Dynamic Sounds Studios and Channel One Studios and remixed at Joe Gibbs Studio in Jamaica- New analogue mastering- 140-gram black vinylFeaturing the rare 1975 album Truth & Rights - rated Inchthe best deejay LP in a long timeInchby Carl Gayle in the magazine Black Music, April 1976 - Straight To The Heart includes many of I-Roy's hits from that year plus 4 bonus dub tracks. This set showcases some heavy I-Roy songs, filled with improvised humour, infectious rhythms and thought-provoking themes. One of the highlights of the album is the hit 'Dread In The West', a stunning combination of Lee Perry's terrific rhythm track on 'Three Blind Mice' and Roy's razor sharp social commentary.
Drawing inspiration from bands such as The Sweet, The Dictators, Van Halen, The Fucking Champs, Nazareth, Sheer Mag, KISS, Jaguar, and Boston, Piittsburgh PA's triple lead guitar outfit Limousine Beach combine concentrated songwriting and nimble fretwork with soaring vocal harmonies to become the world's first Inchsizzle rockInch band. Each composition is a compact blast of expertly crafted songwriting, none of which sacrifice complexity or power for brevity. So knock off work early, crank up Limousine Beach, and if anyone asks where you are, tell 'em you're gone sizzlin'. InchBased on true events, 'Stealin' Wine' is a tale of airborne liquor theft. When you have 8 hours left to kill on a transatlantic flight, an unattended booze cart is all the motive you need,Inch says the band.
