About this product

An American soul vocal group that would go on to shape the sound of pop music much farther beyond their imaginations, The Ponderosa Twins Plus One featured two sets of identical teenage twins, Alfred and Alvin Pelham, and Keith and Kirk Gardner, along with Ricky Spicer. The group released a couple of singles and a lone album for Cleveland's Saru tag in 1971, breaking up and disbanding as adolescence waned. A recent sample darling of both Kanye West and Tyler The Creator, InchBoundInch has revealed the Ponderosa Twins Plus One as the real Midwest kid soul deal. Numero is proud to present the first official American repressing of the original 1971 , with fresh remasters from the original analog tapes, two previously unissued bonus tracks, and a replica tip on sleeve, making this an album you're bound to fall in love with. Album Tracks 1. Love You While You Wait 2. Hey Girl 3. Turn Around You Fool 4. Touchdown 5. Bound 6. He Didn't Make the Mountains Too High 7. You Send Me 8. Take Me Back 9. Like the Big Boys 10. Dad, I Love Her 11. I Remember You 12. Mama's Little Baby 13. That's What I'll Do (Instrumental)

Tony Toni Tone - Sons Of Soul - VINYL LP
5.0(1)

Double vinyl LP pressing. Sons of Soul is the 1993 third studio album by Tony! Toni! Toné! The band originally recorded for the album at several studios in California, including Westlake Recording Studios and Paradise Recording Studio. When they became jaded with the various people frequenting those studios, Tony! Toni! Toné! moved their sessions to Caribbean Sound Basin in Trinidad, where they ultimately wrote and recorded most of the album. Sons of Soul was produced entirely by the group, who worked with various session musicians and utilized both vintage and contemporary recording equipment. They intended to pay homage to their musical influences-classic soul artists of the 1960s and 1970s-and incorporated live instrumentation, funk, and hip hop elements such as samples and scratches. Lead singer and bassist Raphael Wiggins handled most of the songwriting, which featured quirky, flirtatious lyrics. Album Tracks 1. If I Had No Loot 2. What Goes Around Comes Around 3. My Ex - Girlfriend 4. Tell Me Mama 5. Leavin' 6. Slow Wine 7. (Lay Your Head on My) Pillow 8. I Couldn't Keep It to Myself 9. Gangsta Groove 10. Tonyies! in the Wrong Key 11. Dance Hall 12. Times Square 2 30A.M. (Segue) 13. Fun 14. Anniversary 15. Castleers

The Sylvers - Ii - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. This is masterpiece. And we mean it. Beautiful golden-era soul written by Leon Sylvers III produced by Jerry Butler and Keg Johnson. The Sylvers were a family from Los Angeles who were very successful during the '70s and into the early '80s with chart hits - deep into pop-disco territory by then! - including 'Boogie Fever Hot Line' and 'High School Dance'. This is the groups second album from 1973 and is one of their strongest. Opening with the awesome mid-tempo 'We Can Make It If We Try' the record moves through funk boogie and deep soul moods finishing on a hazy acapella version of The Beatles 'Yesterday'. The Sylvers always provide a goldmine of samples. This album has been flipped by Madlib (for MF DOOM) Homeboy Sandman 50 Cent Ghostface Killah Black Milk Roc Marciano David Banner & 9th Wonder and more. Album Tracks 1. We Can Make It If We Try 2. Through the Love in My Heart 3. Handle It 4. I'll Never Let You Go 5. Cry of a Dreamer 6. Stay Away from Me 7. I Don't Need to Prove Myself 8. Let It Be Me 9. Love Me 10. Love Me Not 11. I Remember 12. Yesterday
