Yet another daring study in genre synthesis, the band continues to push boundaries in both sound and aesthetic, blending jagged fragments of black metal and shoegaze as they have done since their influential 2008 Hydra Head Records debut, only this time adding the unconventional layers of reggaeton and neoperreo to both voice and rhythm. Named after the ancient Greek philosopher, Pythagoras represents the band's ongoing commitment to innovation, and the perpetual juxtaposition of the delicate and the devastating, embracing complex musical structures and rhythms that both challenge and captivate the listener. To bring the album's vision to life, Pyramids enlisted vocalist Emy Smith, whose neoperreo-influenced vocals add a haunting, ethereal layer to the dense soundscape. The album's cover art, created by Miami-based nail artist Kro Vargas (aka Krocaine), further captures the ominous yet captivating essence of the music, hinting at the fusion of genres and cultures that defines Pythagoras.Pythagoras is not just a sonic evolution-it is an exploration of the cycles of musical extremes. Balling believes that genres, like metal, evolve towards greater intensity until they reach a point of such sonic density and noise that they return to something beautifully melodic and transcendent. This concept is reflected in the album's dense, layered compositions and it's ability to both overwhelm and soothe the listener. The album's rhythm is a complex mathematical interplay, where the familiar blas

Limited turquoise colored vinyl LP pressing. A gonzo crew of shaved-headed, sax-blowing, reverb-stomping maniacs, the fivesome tore it up on the stages of unsuspecting West Coast teen haunts and hit the big screen via the 1964 B-Movie InchBikini Beach.Inch The album features InchPenetration,Inch one of the undisputed all-time surf cornerstones! Back in the 1960s, when surf music was burning up and down the beaches of the Southern California coastline, it was often a gimmick that made one band stand out from the others. The Pyramids simply had great surf music... and bald heads. Their big hit, InchPenetration,Inch stayed in the top ten (Billboard) for 13 weeks reaching as high as #4 nationally. Only The Beatles kept the song from going higher. The Pyramids appeared on American Bandstand (twice), The Bob Eubanks Show, Shebang, Dave Hull's Hullabaloo, and The Lloyd Thaxton Show. The band went on to record a handful of killer singles and one album before splitting up in 1965. Now back in print after 25 years, the Pyramids are back in action and ready to rock!

After shaking cocktail music (and Fifties exotica) wide awake in his impossibly InchcultInch first album - Songs for Cabriolets, FA8565, released in year 2000 - Karl Zero made his musical comeback in 2005 when he hatched this InchHiFi CalypsoInch after rising to meet a sizeable challenge to lure Bob Marley's legendary Wailers away from Jamaica, and then have them play mento and calypso, the genres that gave reggae it's sources. Relying on his phony InchfrogInch accent, singsong chat and debonair tenderness, Karl came up with 15 tracks that brimmed with sunshine. Every one of these is a sugarcane delight, with tasty flavours delicately aged in barrels of rum to produce this vintage postcard in sound.
