About this product
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Rocket to Russia is the third studio album by the American punk rock band The Ramones, and was released on November 4, 1977, through Sire Records. It's origins date back to the summer of 1977, when InchSheena Is a Punk RockerInch was released as a single. That summer was known as the peak of the punk rock genre since many punk bands were offered recording contracts. The album's recording began in August 1977, and the band had a considerably larger budget with Sire allowing them $25, 000 and $30, 000; much of this money went toward the album's production rather than recording. Let It Be looms large among '80s rock albums, generally regarded as one of the greatest records of the decade. Nothing about Let It Be is clean; it's all a ragged mess, careening wildly from dirty jokes to wounded ballads, from utter throwaways to songs haunting in their power. This blend of bluster and vulnerability is why The Replacements were perhaps the most beloved band of their era, as they captured all the chaos and confusion of coming of age in the midst of Reaganomics, and Let It Be is nothing if not a coming-of-age album, perched precisely between adolescence and adulthood. There's just enough angst and tastelessness to have the album speak to teenagers of all generations and just enough complicated emotion to make this music resonate with listeners long past those awkward years, whether they grew up with this album or not. Album Tracks 1. I Will Dare 2. Favorite Thing 3. We're Comin' Out 4. Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out 5. Androgynous 6. Black Diamond 7. Unsatisfied 2. Seen Your Video 9. Gary's Got a Boner 4. Sixteen Blue 11. Answering Machine
Vinyl LP pressing of the second album from the punk legends. Released in January 1977, it featured a clutch of Ramones' classics including 'Swallow My Pride, Pinhead, Suzy is a Headbanger, California Sun' (a hit for the Rivieras in the '60s) and of course the controversial 'Carbona Not Glue'. Produced by Tony Bongiovi and Tommy Ramone, Leave Home also featured the engineering talents of Ed Stasium, who would go on to work with the band over numerous other releases. Songs on the album were written immediately after the band's first album's writing process, which demonstrated the band's progression. The album had a higher production value than their debut Ramones and featured faster tempos. Album Tracks 1. Glad to See You Go (Remastered) 2. Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment (Remastered) 3. I Remember You (Remastered) 4. Oh Oh I Love Her So (Remastered) 5. Carbona Not Glue (Remastered) 6. Suzy Is a Headbanger (Remastered) 7. Pinhead (Remastered) 1.
