The Road to Mother - BLU-RAY

The incomparable screen siren Brigitte Bardot singes the screen in Two Weeks in September (1967). She stars as Cecile, a fashion model who lives a peaceful life in France with the husband (Jean Rochefort, The Hairdresser's Husband) she loves. One day, during a photo session in London, she meets the younger Vincent (Laurent Terzieff, Germinal) and becomes his mistress. They fall wildly in love. But when she returns to France, Cecile, torn between two men, is forced into a choice that will change her life forever.

Tomato-can pug Dave Roberts (James Murray) was resigned to his role amongst a gang of grifters traveling from town to town and putting on fixed matches. However, his latest stop brought him into the lives of a willful waitress (Barbara Kent) and an orphaned kid (Jack Hanlon) he took on as a promotional prop-and their belief in him might mean he's taken his last dive. William Wyler's long-thought-lost silent sports story co-stars Wheeler Oakman, George Kotsonaros. 62 min. Standard; Soundtrack music score; audio commentary. Silent with music score.

Having borrowed a car, an Iranian family-nurturing mom (Pantea Panahiha), gruff, cast-hobbled dad (Hassan Madjooni), pensive eldest son (Amin Simiar), rambunctious 6-year-old (Rayan Sarlak), and pet dog-piled in for a cross-country journey. The funny and tender interactions along the way will stand in sobering contrast to the ramifications of their trip's end, in this well-observed debut feature from director Panah Panahi (son of Jafar). 93 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Farsi; Subtitles English; theatrical trailer. In Farsi with English subtitles.
