About this product

The Royal Counts originated in a locker room in Dickinson High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. After lunch each day, to pass extra time away, they would venture to this locker room because they liked the echo. Approximately one week afterwards, their reputation as a Inchboss groupInch spread around Dickenson's 3,200 student body. Boys would gather to listen, and to contribute to the little confidence they had. Time after time they were asked, InchWhy don't you get a name for yourselves?Inch One of the students forwarded the name InchRoyal CountsInch to Mike Murphy, who suggested it to the others (Herman Hammond, Bill Jones, Ted West, and Charlie Small). Falling for it, they decided to keep it. Shortly afterwards, they began receiving invitations to sing at school dances, and for various organizations outside of the school. Losing their taste for the small echo provided in the locker room, they promoted themselves to the school tunnel. Here they practiced until after 5 P.M., getting their harmony just right. It was by merits of this hard and eager practice that the Royal Counts had earned in Jersey City and throughout the country. .

Picturebooks & the Major Minor Collective - Major Minor Collective - VINYL LP

Gritty blues-rock-duo The Picturebooks (vocalist/guitarist Fynn Grabke and drummer Philipp Mirtschink) follow-up 2019's The Hands Of Time with the The Major Minor Collective featuring guest contributions from Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Dennis Lyxzen (Refused), Neil Fallon (Clutch) and Ryan Sinn (The Distillers). The Picturebooks & the Major Minor Collective was born out of the idea of bringing together various artists, who have either inspired the duo or who are their friends. The idea was to have some kind of creative exchange in these crazy times, a bridge to fellow artists. It also opened the musical range of the band in many ways and leads to the most varied musical work The Picturebooks have ever done in their career.

The Cordials - AcappellaBlueEyedSoul(2023Remaster) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Formed in New Rochelle, New York in the early 1960s, The Cordials made their first appearance at New Rochelle High School in 1963. On the same bill were the soon to be famous Four Seasons. Before that night, the members of the group were split up into two different groups know as Denny and The Aragons, and The Cordials. Eventually, five of the boys from both groups formed one group and retained the name The Cordials - consisting of Dennis Lane (lead vocals), Jimmy McSweeney (2nd tenor), Charlie Balascio (bass), Kenny Wessel (baritone) and Bob Stewart (high tenor). Their first recorded single entitled InchOh How I Love HerInch b/w InchYou Can't Believe in Love,Inch was released in 1965 on Liberty Records. This recording was done in the Sta-Phillips studio in the Americana hotel on Broadway in Manhattan. This was the same studio that the Four Seasons did all their recording in. Neil Levenson, who wrote InchOh, How I Love HerInch for The Cordials, also wrote the hit song InchDeniseInch for Randy and the Rainbows. Before cutting their first record, The Cordials won second prize in a contest at the famed Apollo Theatre. In 1967, The Cordials recorded their first full-length album entitled InchAcappella Blue-Eyed SoulInch for the Catamount Records tag, which was well received and met with much critical acclaim at the time. Today, that album is considered an acappella classic. The group eventually disbanded in the late 1960s, due to some of it's members being drafted during the Vietnam war. Their classic album is presented here newly remastered for this exclusive . .
