Emerging from the post-punk band Sad Lovers & Giants, The Snake Corps developed a sound that married dark, melodic atmospheres with sharp guitar lines and emotionally resonant vocals. The Snake Corps debuted with 1985's gothic Flesh on Flesh. Second album, Smother Earth, appeared in 1990, preceded by the single InchCalling YouInch and it's popular B-side InchThis Is Seagull...Inch Guitarist Tristan Garel-Funk notes, InchFlesh on Flesh was a reaction against what Sad Lovers & Giants had become. A sort of howl of rage. Smother Earth was more like a return to base.Inch Singer Marc Lewis states, InchAt the time we felt we'd made our strongest album, and I still think it represents the band at it's creative peak. Listening back now, what strikes me most is how well it has aged. Because we weren't afraid to explore different ideas instead of repeating the same formula, the album still feels fresh. Time has been kind to Smother Earth.Inch Following up Iconoclassic Records' reissue of The Snake Corps' Flesh on Flesh, the equally rare and sought-after Smother Earth returns to CD newly remastered, augmented with 7 bonus tracks, and featuring a new 1800-word interview with Lewis and Garel-Funk in an expanded booklet.

Get Some is the debut studio album by California-based nu metal band Snot, a collective composed of former members of thrash, speed metal, and punk bands. The album was produced by T-Ray (who has worked with Helmet and House Of Pain. It is the only album that features it's original vocalist, Lynn Strait, who was killed in a car accident, December 1998, when a truck struck his car, killing him and his dog, Dobbs, who appears on the album cover. No one quite sounds like vocalist Lynn Strait and the band is just insanely tight. When you want something heavy and groovin' with a sense of humor to boot, Snot fits the bill!
