The Tannahill Weavers - Collection - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

One of Scotland's finest, and a big hit with Prairie Home Companion. Here are their finest jigs and reels, chosen by the band itself-their traditional concert opener the Geese in the Bog/The Jog of Slurs; the Highland Laddie; I Once Loved a Lass, and more.

Skid is the debut album by the Irish blues rock band Skid Row, released in 1970. The band was initially formed in 1967, featuring Gary Moore on guitar and vocals, became a key part of Irish rock history. The album blends traditional blues influences with hard rock and a hint of psychedelic rock, resulting in a raw and powerful debut. With it's heavy blues influence, InchSkidInch features extended guitar solos and emotive vocals, with Moore's bluesy guitar work taking center stage and showcasing his immense talent early in his career. The album also incorporates hard rock elements, with strong rhythms and powerful riffs adding a heavier edge to the sound. The combination of bluesy improvisation and hard rock energy gives the album a compelling and distinctive vibe for it's time. Many of the tracks on InchSkidInch are built around improvisation, which was a hallmark of the band's live performances. This sense of spontaneity lends the album a raw, unpolished feel, complete with extended instrumental breaks and solos.
