The Temperance Movement - A Deeper Cut - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The Temperance Movement paved the way for a huge rock revival storming the scene in the modern era. The impact the band has had on today's rock devotees and aficionados was immensely apparent with the announcement of their 2025 tour sold-out shows, venue upgrades, and ovations before the band had even played a single note. And all this after half a decade away from the stage. In the wake of this triumphant tour, the band received a stream of festival offers and entered the studio with renowned producer Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling), cultivating an album of all-new material 'New Promise Land Incorporated'. 'New Promise Land Incorporated' deftly marks the new era for the band, rejoicing the reconnection of five musical soulmates and bringing what fans crave the most to record an explosion of raw soul and a live-to-record energy so palpable that it feels as though you're right in the studio. The record is a celebration of the power that this British outfit bring to the stage be it masterfully creating a rock'n'roll rush so electric that you feel it pulsing through to the tips of your hairs (as in the psychedelic-tinged InchShadowsInch) or writing with poignant beauty that brings pin-drop serenity to the most chaotic of minds (see the tender charm of InchMongrelsInch and the lyrically stunning InchSaving GraceInch). And with a 21-date tour to follow soon after the album's , the rousing spirit of 'New Promise Land Incorporated' is set to resound far and wide.

The New York City duo of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper aka Tempers specialize in a sleek strain of low-lit poetic synth-pop, the latest statement of which feels like the peak fruition of their elusive alchemy. With their self-produced New Meaning, Tempers present an album about navigating the unknown, coping mechanisms and exploring the nature of choice. It's ten songs reflect on the creation of meaning as an access to liberation in times of transition and loss, speculating on the transformative potential that exists alongside the grief of living in a world that is in an ongoing state of crisis. This is distinctly nocturnal music, elegantly introspective and quietly intense, born of Inchliving in a society that is still a dream of itself.Inch Tracks like InchUnfamiliar,Inch InchNightwalking,Inch and InchSightseeingInch distill The Tempers template to icy pop perfection, drum machinery framed in shivering reverb, Golestaneh's voice both ethereal and towering, simultaneously within and above. Cooper speaks of production ideas regarding Inchhuman architecture,Inch breathing life into the precision of electronics, and of melodic intervals Inchon the exact edge between major and minor, severe and sweet.Inch On other cuts, Golestaneh and Cooper's production skews more evocatively greyscale, from new wave shadowplay (InchCarried AwayInch) to depressive disco (InchIn And Out Of HandInch) to an elegy of hopeful resignation (InchSecrets And LiesInch). The album's themes are echoed in the evocative cover photo, Lost Hotel (2016) by Beijing-based photography artist Chen Wei. New Meaning is a document of forking paths and fleeting transcendence, the celebration of instability and impermanence, of embracing Incha constant state of becoming.Inch Ten anthems for a derailed age, fugitive and sympathetic, nightwalking through an Inchanguished cityInch towards a nameless future, p
