An excellent cast featuring Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Melvyn Douglas, and the immortal Dwight Frye headline this macabre tale of vampire attacks in a small village. Does a troubled man-child with an affection for bats have something to do with it? Or is it a local scientist who appears to know quite a bit about vampirism? Director Frank R. Strayer spins a thrilling tale from Hugo nominated screenwriter Edward T. Lowe (House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula) and will have you craving more films from the first golden age of horror!
Sleepy-eyed nice guy Lee Ritter and his vapid but pretty wife, Susan, accept the invitation of mysterious vixen Diane LeFanu to visit her secluded desert estate. Tensions arise when the couple, unaware that Diane is really a centuries-old vampire, become objects of the pale skinned temptress' seductions.
Los Angeles has a discreet community of tortured, bloodthirsty creatures of the night. But when a mysterious vampire (Natasha Gregson Wagner - Lost Highway) enters the scene, The Count wants this blood-sucking seductress eliminated before her rampage of death exposes the cult. Her only chance at immortality lies in the fangs of Dallas (Casper Van Dien - Starship Troopers). But when a distraught mortal, Dr. Frederick van Helsing (Rod Steiger - The Amityville Horror), seeks revenge on the vampires that damned his son, he vows to kill them all, slowly. Together with a band of vampire hunters, Dr. Van Helsing declared war on the underground church of damnation. Welcome to Transylvania in the Hollywood Hills
