The Wild Party - DVD

1920s Hollywood. Talkies are all the rage, but silent film star Jolly Grimm believes he still has a future and throws a lavish party at his mansion to premiere his magnum opus. But when his film flops, Grimm must face a horrible truth about himself.

Academy Award Winner Reese Witherspoon stars in this inspirational true story from the director of Dallas Buyers Club and based on the best-selling book by Cheryl Strayed. After years of reckless behavior and being haunted by memories of her mother Bobbi (Academy Award Nominee Laura Dern), Cheryl (Witherspoon) makes a rash decision to embark on a challenging trek across the Pacific Crest Trail. With absolutely no experience, she sets out to hike more than a thousand miles all on her own - in what becomes a remarkable journey of self-discovery and redemption that strengthens and ultimately heals her.

Seventeen-year-old Daniela (Alicia Rodrfguez in a fearless and unforgettable performance) is obsessed with S*x. But her self-proclaimed passion is in direct conflict with her well-to-do, strict evangelical family in Santiago, Chile. Finding an outlet by detailing her ruminations and exploits on her blog InchYoung & WildInch to her eager online followers, Daniela soon finds kindred spirits in handsome and pious Tomas and co-worker Antonia. As she struggles to balance both relationships, Daniela learns that having it all - S*x, love and eternal salvation - is more complicated than she ever imagined. Masterfully directed by first-timer Marialy Rivas and co-written by Camila GutiTrrez (on whose life story it is based), YOUNG & WILD is a stunning, erotic look at family and youth culture in contemporary Chile.
