About this product

What the Funk Brothers did for Motown... The Wrecking Crew did, only bigger, for the West Coast sound. Six tears in a row in the 1960's and early 1970's, the Grammy for Record of the Year went to Wrecking Crew recordings. The Wrecking Crew tells the story of the unsung musicians that provided the backbeat, the bottom and the swinging melody that drove many of the number one hits of the 1960's. It didn't matter if it was Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, the Monkees, the Byrds or the Beach Boys, these dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American west coast sound a dominant cultural force around the world.

    Great doc!

Once again another great music documentary that tells you about a whole bunch of great musicians that have played on some of the greatest records of all time, but most of these people you’ve never heard of, unless you’re a serious audiophile!

An unknown group of musicians who ruled the world

This is a documentary on one of the most influential studio bands of all time...being on many pop and rock'n'roll sings of the late 50's to the early 70's. A look at the musicians who almost controlled the music world for about two decades or so. I was mesmerized by the songs they played on and the talent they worked with (Sinatra, Beach Boys, movie soundtracks and commercials), they could do it all!

Great Behind The Scenes Of Session Musicians

This DVD shows what happened behind the scenes with The Wrecking Crew - a set of musicians that were used to provide the sound for many groups (including The Beach Boys in the late '60s). Glen Campbell was the most famous member of the group who later found fame as a solo artist. However, he didn't forget his roots, many of The Wrecking Crew played on his records.

    Great Documentary

I really enjoyed this DVD. I leaned a lot about the musicians that made up the Wrecking Crew. I had only known about Glen Campbell, but there were so many more. And who know the Beach Boys used them to record their music? I didn't, but I know now.
