    Addictive Gameplay

Fun rhythm game with tons of content in the base game. There’s over 100 characters and over 380 song from throughout final fantasy history. You can also upgrade to the digital deluxe to unlock more music from other Square games. Battle mode is pretty fun against other players and you can also exchange player cards to get rare summons from other players. Overall a really addictive game that would be perfect for final fantasy fans or fans of rhythm games.

An excellent music game and a great series review

If you've played Theatrhythm before, this is a no-brainer purchase. It's great to be able to play this on a large screen with a full speaker setup. I was curious how the controls would work since previous titles were on the 3DS. But apparently the input for this is based more on an arcade release in Japan. It's adapted very well in my opinion, with most of the focus being on pressing one or two buttons and moving the joystick. I've not come across any issues where I felt cheated out of a press, but some of the dual joystick moves take some practice. The base game contains so much music it's almost overwhelming. Every mainline Final Fantasy is represented, including key characters and monsters/bosses. The art style is fun and the presentation is great. There is a lot of DLC planned for this game, but given how much you get with the initial purchase I found it hard to be bothered. You can buy a Season Pass or just buy the packs for the specific games you're interested in, which so far has included things like The World Ends with You, Nier, SaGa, and other popular titles. I really only have a couple of complaints: 1. You can adjust the timing in the settings, but it's manual. Most of these games let you hit a button in time with a beat to determine the timing, but this game does not offer that. It's a really weird oversight. 2. I honestly almost never find anyone to play with online despite the online modes. I expect it's not crossplay with the Switch version, which probably would have helped. But overall it's a ridiculous amount of content in a very fun package and completely worth full price.

    Theatrhythm Final Bar Line

fun game, don't have to have any knowledge of the Final Fantasy series to play, huge selection of games to choose music from, lots of characters to unlock, can level up characters to 99 and then an additional 9 more level ups to make them really powerful, fun different character classes, takes about 30-35 hours to complete all the songs

An amazing homage to Final Fantasy music

This title has a staggering amount of content. While the actual gameplay modes are simple without much diversity, the sheer number of songs is huge. Obviously everyone has their own favorites and there will always be songs you wish were in it that aren't, but overall it's a finely curated selection. My only other gripe is that some songs are cut short or aren't their full versions.
