A: This blower is designed to be installed either on a wall or on a rooftop using a roof mounting plate, so I don't think it needs any protection to be weatherproof. The photo shows the enclosure with the intake opening facing up and the exhaust on the right. When mounted on a wall, the intake would be facing the wall to connect to the ducting and the exhaust facing down. When roof mounted, the intake would be facing down to connect to the ducting and the exhaust would face the lower side of the roof.
