About this product
The concept for The Day That Is was born just before the pandemic but was accelerated once Heberer's touring schedule came to a halt. At home, Heberer fell back into his rigorous practicing and composing routines. By the summer of 2020, he realized that the social isolation might last for some time, so he decided to be proactive and have something to show for his time spent at home. The leader's pieces focused on a number of compositional elements, including ambiguous sounding symmetrical scales. He was also cognizant of providing different parameters for each piece and the architecture of the album as he put the program together.

There's a rare acoustic alchemy at play in Time Is A Blind Guide. At times, the group's three string instruments make up a firm trio-unit that enters into thoughtful dialog with piano and percussion, but for the most part, the group's pulse works as a whole, with each instrument dynamically gliding in and out of the picture, captured in well-known acoustics of Rainbow Studio. The album, recorded at Rainbow Studio, Oslo in 2021, and mixed in Munich in 2024, was produced by Manfred Eicher.

Thomas Rückert is a quiet rebel who knows exactly what he wants, especially on his new CD Parvaneh (the Persian word for InchbutterflyInch). On this stunning new album, Rückert updates his artful fantasy world, which he began to construct on his previous album Meera. Along with his partners Reza Askari (bass) and Fabian Arends (drums), he develops an unusual form of dynamics in 11 pieces.
