About this product

With their third full length 'Songs About Drowning', Thought Forms kick it up yet another notch, pushing the boat out even further to create a strange, intoxicating album, their most accomplished to date and certainly their most fascinating. A contributing factor of this sea-change was the addition of bassist Jim Barr (Portishead, Get The Blessing), who also produced and recorded the album. Blending refined and colossal noise-scapes with a beautifully hypnotic and seductive style delivered with confidence, 'Songs About Drowning' is a richly deserving album which could see the band carrying the proud lineage of off-kilter noise-pop. This will appeal to fans of My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, Thurston Moore, Beak and White Hills.

The Boys - Alternative Chartbusters - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. A punk classic, gloriously anthemic power pop from the cult UK outfit. On 17 March 1978, a mere six months after the of their self-titled debut, The Boys second album InchAlternative ChartbustersInch was released (once again, produced by Dangerfield & Steel). As AllMusic recognises, InchAlternative ChartbustersInch was way ahead of it's time, a buried treasure that only got dusted off much later InchCondemned at the time for offering up little more than a straight carbon copy of it's predecessor, the second Boys' album has since ascended to the pantheon of power pop greats, a combination of the band's own inestimable position at the forefront of what, by early 1978, was already a burgeoning movement, and their seemingly effortless grasp of the rudiments of, indeed, a great pop song.Inch Along with the S*x Pistols, Clash and the Damned, The Boys were part of the first wave of the mid-1970's UK punk explosion. Armed with an arsenal of killer Steel/Dangerfield songs The Boys became the first UK punk band to sign an album deal in January 1977 and subsequently released two albums, their self-titled debut and the follow-up InchAlternative ChartbustersInch in quick succession. Highly regarded by the music press and their contemporaries, yet somehow criminally ignored by a wider punk audience, unable to grasp their heritage of vintage rock 'n' roll that went back to Chuck Berry courtesy of The Beatles. Their well-crafted songs, together with Steel and Dangerfield's layered harmonies, even led to them being described as 'The Beatles of Punk'.

Altomonte Orchester St. Florian - Bruckner: Symphony in D minor, Wab 100, The Nullified - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The 2023 edition of Brucknertage Festival St. Florian was presenting a very rare specialty Remy Ballot and the Altomonte Orchestra St. Florian's premiere performance of the critical new edition of Anton Bruckners Symphony in D minor, WAB 100, InchThe NullifiedInch (formerly known as InchDie NullteInch or InchNo. 0Inch) by David Chapman. Contrary to what one might induce it is by no means a symphonic debut by Bruckner, but has been composed in 1869 after his first symphony, designated to be symphony no. 2. Many parts of the composition are radically new and already herald the revolutionary compositional models of the later Bruckner. The so-called InchFirst ThemeInch alone, as later in the introductions to the IIIrd and IXth Symphonies, does not form a developed theme, but only sound surfaces, prompting the understandable, but disastrous question by conductor Felix Otto Dessoff of the Vienna Philharmonic InchWell, where is the main theme there?Inch This single criticism was enough for the sensitive 45-year-old to InchannulInch the work, adding the number Inch0Inch to the autograph and disregarding it for the rest of his life... It was not until 1924 that this magnificent D minor symphony, which was certainly unjustly banned from his catalog of works, was finally premiered in Klosterneuburg.
