Limited double translucent orange vinyl LP pressing. The Three 6 Mafia's beginnings date back to the early '90s when they were known as Triple Six Mafia. Three 6 made their proper debut in 1995 with Mystic Stylez, a groundbreaking effort that lent itself well to the InchhorrorcoreInch tag tossed about in the years to follow. The independent of their album, The End, through independent distributor, Select-O-Hits, propelled DJ Paul, Juicy J and their crew to National prominence. The recognition received by The End led to the group signing a major tag deal with Relativity Records and the rest is Rap history. Prince is the eponymous second studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on October 19, 1979 by Warner Bros. Records. The album was written, arranged, composed, produced and performed entirely by Prince, with the only known contribution from another person being Inchsome vocal harmonyInch added by close friend/bassist André Cymone on Track 2. Prince recorded the album in just a few weeks after Warner Bros. Asked for a follow-up to his 1978 debut, For You. Prince had used twice his initial recording advance on the album, and it had failed to generate a pop hit (although InchSoft and WetInch became a No. 12 R&B hit). Displeased at his lack of success, Prince quickly recorded the follow-up. Few artists have created a body of work as rich and varied as Prince. During the '80s, he emerged as one of the most singular talents of the rock & roll era, capable of seamlessly tying together pop, funk, folk, and rock. Not only did he a series of groundbreaking albums; he toured frequently, produced albums and wrote songs for many other artists, and recorded hundreds of songs that still lie unreleased in his vaults. With each album he released, Prince has shown remarkable stylistic growth and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, textures, and genres. Occasionally, his music can be maddeningly inconsistent because of this eclecticism, but his experiments frequently succeed; no other contemporary artist can blend so many diverse styles into a cohesive whole. On May 9, 1995, the of an album by a new Memphis rap group changed the future of Memphis rap and the future of rap itself. The of InchMystic StylezInch by Three 6 Mafia marked the first commercial of a supergroup that had formed through the merger of DJ Paul and Juicy J, two of Memphis' most popular mixtape DJs in the early 90's. The group would go on to record 9 albums and be the first rap group ever to receive an Academy Award for their song InchIt's Hard Out Here For A Pimp.Inch Three 6 Mafia also helped launch the careers of Lil Wyte, La Chat, Project Pat, Gangsta Boo & more.
