About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. Tim Bowness's eighth studio Powder Dry represents a new beginning on a new tag (Kscope). Produced, performed and written by Tim, the music was mixed by his partner in no-man, Steven Wilson, and the album's music echoes no-man's panoramic sonics and questing eclecticism. A collection of acute contrasts, echoed by Carl Glover's vibrant artwork, Wilson also acted as Bowness's sounding board during the mixing process.

Limited yellow colored vinyl LP pressing. Tim Bowness Makes Kscope Solo Debut With 'Powder Dry'. Featuring 16 pieces over it's restless 40-minute duration, Tim Bowness's eighth studio album represents a new beginning on a new tag.A collection of acute contrasts, 'Powder Dry' is a vibrantly accessible and wildly experimental genre-blurring assault, embracing Industrial Rock, Electro Pop, singer-songwriter directness, haunted carnival soundscapes and more. Entirely produced, performed and written by Tim Bowness (a first), 'Powder Dry' was mixed (in stereo and Surround Sound) by Tim's partner in No-Man (and The Album Years podcast), Steven Wilson, who also acted as Bowness's sounding board during the mixing process. Tim Bowness is primarily known as vocalist/co-writer with the band No-Man, a long-running collaboration with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). In addition to releasing seven studio albums and a documentary DVD with No-Man, Tim has worked with popular Italian artist Alice (on the Italian Top 20 album Viaggio In Italia), Mercury Prize nominated Banco de Gaia, Robert Fripp, Peter Hammill, Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera and many others. With artwork by Carl Glover (Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson), this edition of the album is presented on limited edition yellow vinyl.

Limited vinyl LP pressing includes bonus CD edtion. 2022 . Coming 40 years after he first started performing in bands in his native North West of England, Butterfly Mind is the most surprising yet from Tim Bowness. From the short, sharp shocks of Always The Stranger and Only A Fool to the long-form ambition of the sensuous Dark Nevada Dream, the cinematic Electro-Ballroom of Glitter Fades and the dystopian paranoia of Say Your Goodbyes Parts 1 and 2, Butterfly Mind delivers a thrilling fusion of Art Rock invention, Post-Punk energy and epic soulful ballads. Tim's seventh solo album features the stellar rhythm section of Richard Jupp (in his first major session since leaving Elbow) and Nick Beggs alongside a spectacular guest list including Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Dave Formula (Magazine), Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Martha Goddard (The Hushtones), Gregory Spawton (Big Big Train), Mark Tranmer (The Montgolfier Brothers / GNAC), Saro Cosentino (Franco Battiato), Italian Jazz musician Nicola Alesini, US singer Devon Dunaway (Ganga), Stephen W Tayler (Kate Bush) and, marking his first studio work with Tim for nearly three decades, former No-Man violinist Ben Coleman.
