Timora Rosler - Rhapsodie Pour Violoncelle - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This product is an authorized manufactured on demand CD-R

Filling only two CDs, the complete works for cello and piano are quintessential and vintage Beethoven. Timora Rosler and Klara Wurtz have played together for more than 15 years, having won several chamber music prizes. They performed the Beethoven cycle several times in concert over the years, and their interpretation has ripened to such an extent that the time came to record it. Every note is alive and vibrant, played with gusto and feeling, alternating melancholy and joy, sadness and sheer fun. Recorded January 19-23, 2013, at Sala congressi del Parco naturalistico di Onara in Padua, Italy.

Marina Tarasovais one of the most renowned cellists, who has garnered an international following through her numerous recordings on Alto, Musical Concepts, Divine Art, and Northern Flowers. Her newest recording showcases the cello sonatas of Russian futurist composer Nikolai Roslavets. Written during the first years of the Russian Revolution, the sonatas are unabashedly modern, eschewing traditional form in favor of brash extended harmonies and rhapsodic form, deeply influenced by the music of Scriabin. The program also includes works from the same period by fellow Russian futurist Alexander Mosolov and the then-young Gavriil Popov, as well as Scriabin's Romance for Cello and Piano - a high-intensity virtuoso romantic tour-de-force.
