This Tineco Floor Washer blew me away! I’ve tried two other brands before, but this one outperforms them all. It dispenses just the right amount of water, deep-cleans my floors, gently refreshes rugs, and dries super quickly. Lightweight, powerful, and the battery lasts longer than expected. I never thought I’d love a mop, but this one makes cleaning easy and even enjoyable. Highly recommend for pet owners and busy households!

Love this vac mop so far - lightweight, vacuums well, gets into corners and close to baseboards. I don’t see any smudges on the floor, and there’s no residue after. It has made cleaning my laminate and tile floors so much easier! You do have to be diligent about cleaning parts and emptying everything every time to prevent odor.

This item had to be used and returned. There is no way my old vacuum and power mop missed all that dirt and pet hair. Then I ran my fingertips over the floor. No grit! All of my floors are old wood except the bathroom. It is linoleum. I have four dogs. Three have long hair. One has long legs. Three are old. This lightweight mop vacuum is up to the task in my home. The bells and voice are confusing to me, but I'll be 70 next month. I'll figure it out at my pace. Now I can mop every morning both to pick up after the dogs and for exercise. They say mopping is the best exercise. I did the kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom this morning. Filled the front bucket. Had power left over. I don't like needing to get on my knees to remove the mop roller. Next time I'll remove both the dirty and the clean water tanks so I can flip it over on the counter. I am not hiding this new toy in the broom closet. No power outlet there. Cleaning out the crud it picked up is not pretty. I'll need to do it after every cleaning. It gets within about an inch of walls so I'll need to scrub there by hand. Overall I'm happy with it.

My wife called this a game changer. We “should have bought this years ago.” Loved it so much that our recommendation led my mother in law to buy one the next week. First use did lead to multiple tanks of dirty water but improved after initial use. Best feature is tge self clean process. It keeps roller ready for next time. (Some suds can leak over edge during self cleaning at times before suction kicks in, so be aware of that).

The product is user friendly in that the onboard computer will guide you. The onboard computer can speak numerous languages and clean itself. The only thing missing is steam and this would be perfect. I don't use bleach because it destroys grout and the soap provided does surface clean very well. I have pets so no sure if it cleans unseen germs.

I have hard wood floors and this has made my life so much easier! Sometimes the floor feels a little sticky would be my only reason for not giving it 5 stars. I only use the floor cleaner recommended. I wish it would smell like pine sol or Lysol.

Absolutely a lifesaver! Honestly, I didn’t expect this model to perform so well, especially with newer versions like the S6 and S7 out there. But for my needs, it’s more than enough. It delivers excellent power and efficiency, has a clear LED display, self-cleaning function, and a large water tank — all the features I was looking for. Super impressed!

In short, the Tineco FloorWasher S5 Pet (I shortened the long name) performed better than I expect it to. Better than a corded Bissel wet floor cleaner I bought several years ago. It’s much lighter and quieter too. I’m not going to be relisting specs and such, but rather discussing how you set it up to use it, clean it when needed and how it performed cleaning floors and doing its self-cleaning. The product is well packed with eco friendly packaging . It was easy to unbox and comes with a setup and operation manual that’s easy to understand. The manual tells and shows you what is what in the machine. How to remove and fill the clean water tank, removing and emptying the dirty water tank, installing the debris filter and how to dock it to charge up. What the icons on top of the display mean, how it works to detect the dirt level in auto mode and how to manually set power levels if auto doesn’t perform well enough. How to disassemble and clean the product as well as a troubleshooting guide. Pretty typical but easier to understand than some manuals I’ve dealt with over the years. After getting it setup and charged up it was showtime. I was working out of town when it was delivered and I told my wife not to use it, or anything else to clean the floors, until I got home. I wanted to give it a good workout. I filled the clean water tank with very warm water (instructions state do not use hot water over 140F) and added a cap full of the included detergent. Reinstalled the full water tank and started on the kitchen floor that is heavy vinyl wood textured planking. It had some crumbs, a few spill spots and cat hair as we have two cats. I was impressed with how it performed on cleaning the floor. It got everything up and up to the edges of the kick panels under the cabinets and appliances. It got the spill spots too! Something that the powered Bissel would have struggled with. It didn’t leave excessive water on the floor and the floor dried pretty quick. See photos. I was impressed with how quiet it is compared to the 3 stick vacs I have reviewed and it is way quieter than the corded Bissel. It’s easy to roll and guide it where you want. The two wheels on the back have rubber tires that have some grip and I think that helps a lot. However, they do get dirty during use and need to be wiped off occasionally. Mine have a liking for cat fur. But they are very easy to clean. I simply held the unit over the kitchen sink and ran water over them while gently wiping the fur and dirt off. Then I dried them off and ready go again or place in the dock if I’m finished. I have the same type of flooring in all my house as the kitchen. About ten years ago I replaced the carpet in the entire house with the vinyl plank flooring to be pet friendly. We had a senior cat that barfed a lot and that had a lot to do with the floor choice decision. Need I say more? 😉 There’s a bedroom that we store stuff in that we also have the cat’s food, water and litter box in. I put a large piece of thin vinyl flooring in that room to protect the plank flooring underneath from dirt and spills. I ran it over that too and it did an excellent job there as well. While testing the unit I tried it in the various power modes. Auto seem to do the best job for the most part and gives the longest battery life. There was only one stubborn spot the unit wouldn’t remove completely in the dining room. Even after running it at max power. I thought I was going to have to get a brush to remove it. That gives you an idea of how well this thing works. The unit will stand on it’s own and pause when you stand the unit upright so if you need to stop and move furniture you don’t have to turn it off to do so. My 90 year old mother lives with my wife and me. She was watching me test it out. She had to give it a try. She ended up finishing cleaning the kitchen floor with it. She loves it! She insisted on cleaning the rest of the dining room and living room with it after I finished testing it. My wife likes how easy it is to clean and dry the unit and parts after use. You press a button to toggle through and select the power levels. Lighted icons and voice prompts tell you when to empty the dirty water, refill the clean water, self clean the unit, low battery and other pertinent information it thinks you need to know. You can mute the voice prompts and change language if desired. The round top of the unit is a display that tells you battery level, dirt level sensing, cleaning / suction power level, water tanks info, blockage, roller tangle and self cleaning. After testing it on cleaning floors and emptying out the dirty water tank a couple of times and filling the clean water tank as many times too, it was time to test out the device’s self cleaning ability. I placed it in its dock and it did it its self. You can manually start and stop the self cleaning process. If you need to empty of fill a tank during the self cleaning process, it will stop and tell you to. I looked at the cleaning roller and the rest of the cleaning head part of it before I ran the self clean and after. I was impressed with the job it did. For light random uses, self clean should be fine, however, you should take it apart and do a thorough cleaning ever so often and not let too much time go by in between a “take it apart” cleaning. Also, I would empty and at least rinse out, the dirty water tank every time I used it. Taking it apart for a thorough cleaning is pretty easy. Everything that comes apart, comes apart easily. The top cover of the power head clips off and can be cleaned under a faucet. The power head is easy to wipe the dirt off of too. The dirty water tank has a tube that runs up through the center of it and a brush is included to clean that and the hose that runs from the power head to the tank. There’s also a paper debris filter that’s in a plastic frame that sits inside of the top of the dirty water tank. You can clean it too. The filter is paper and you will need to let it dry after use and cleaning. They include a spare filter. The cleaning roller can easily be removed and cleaned if and when needed. The self clean did a very good job cleaning it. There are of three of them included with the unit. One suggestion is that you can use one roller with detergent in the clean water tank to clean the floor, then switch rollers to a clean one and clean water to do a rinse on your floor if desired. See photos. 3 year warranty. I highly recommend the Tineco cordless power FloorWasher S5 Pet. It did an excellent job on my floors. However, they do state that if you have rough textured floors that it may not perform as well as it should and does on flat floors. I liked that it was reasonably quiet in comparison to other similar products I have used. It’s light and maneuverers well. Self cleaning does a very good job and when you need to give it a thorough cleaning, it’s very easy to do. It included a spare filter and 3 rollers. The only thing I wish it had was a volume control. The voice prompts could be a little louder.

The difference is the cleaning solution has ingredients to help with odors and bacteria and the microfiber rollers are treated as well. In the box it is has 3 rollers, 2 filters, and a cleaning brush. The charging/cleaning stand has a storage area for the extra items except the 3rd roller. It is nice that they include extras so you can clean one and let it dry while having the next ready to use. You can use it with or without the cleaning solution, but the instructions of course say only to use the official cleaning solution. Unfortunately, when checking online forums, it seems like when other clean solutions were tried it didn’t work well with the machine causing issues. Setup 10/10 Setup out of the box is very simple. Just take the handle and push it into the base. It clicks into place. After that you just choose a spot for the charging/cleaning base and plug it in. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. It will probably take you longer to take it out of the box. Wi-Fi and App 2/10 It is no surprise Tineco doesn’t really market the app and Wi-Fi features very much on this unit as they don’t really provide any value. The instructions in the box and text outside don’t list the function. Only by watching other videos was it discovered this unit has such capability. Even after watching videos pairing was a pain as the app struggled to locate the device. You are supposed to be able to scan the barcode behind the freshwater tank but the app would never recognize it. The only way to pair was by manually connecting to the washer’s built in Wi-Fi and continuing through the app. After getting it connected the only functions possible was to see if the washer was charging or running, set the voice volume, and issue a self-cleaning. Unless you want to turn down or turn off the voice prompts you would be fine skipping the app setup. Usage 8/10 The first thing you notice is the Floorwasher is very light and easy to control. Coming from an old floor washing machine from another company the difference is very noticeable. The handle is comfortable to hold and makes turning very easy. Regardless of if the unit is in Auto mode or full power it is very quiet. It has enough power to where you can feel the roller pulling you forward as you clean. It takes a couple of seconds but eventually the entire roller becomes saturated with cleaner and gets the entire floor. You will notice a line of spots that are more wet than the rest, but they dry up quickly. By default, it starts on Auto mode. There is a manual mode where you can set it to low or high with low having a runtime of 35 minutes and high 28 minutes. In most cases you are better off keeping it on Auto and it will stay on low unless a mess is detected. While 35 minutes may not seem like much this unit is best suited for either a heavy spot cleanup or a quick whole floor light cleanup. In both cases the battery life has been more than enough. While it is easiest to keep it on Auto mode and let it detect messes, the performance of the iLoop dirt detection was hit or miss. It was able to detect more of a mess in front of the stove and dishwasher but didn’t see any mess in front of door with muddy dog pawprints. Then, it maxed out saying a door in the laundry room was as dirty as it gets and stayed that when even when switching rooms. It stayed this way until turned off and back on again. It seems some things on the floor can fool the detector to where it doesn’t adjust. Cleaning Performance 6/10 Considering this a marketed as a pet floor washer you would think it would be designed to handle the dirt and mud of pets. Unfortunately, this assumption is only partially true. While it can clean up fresh heavy messes easily or light dust and hair, what it can’t do well is cleaning up dried up messes. If your pet tracks in mud and it dries to your floor, even multiple passes are unlikely to get all the mess. For heavier messes that are fresh it does a great job of cleaning things up. The one area where the Floorwasher pet does best is the lighter broad cleanups of the house to get light dust, dirt, and all the lingering dog hair off the floors. A vacuum or mop can pick it up, but this picks up all the fine debris leaning the floors clean enough to walk barefoot without feeling like you are walking on sand. Having the roller exposed on one side is also helpful as it can clean closer to the baseboard to get up the grime that sticks right in the seam. The only thing more thorough is getting on your hands and knees and scrubbing, which you will still need to do to the baseboard as the roller doesn’t handle that part. If you are wanting something to get that last lingering particles off the floor so you can walk barefoot in peace, it is hard to do better than this. Tool Cleanup 7/10 It hasn’t been long enough to test how well the antibacterial and anti-odor properties work but so far there have been no problems. It does seem to help that after cleaning you can put the wet roller on the stand to fully dry. When placed back on the dock the Floorwasher will say if it needs to run a cleaning cycle. To do so you just press a button. Once it is done you have to do some manual work to finish up. You must empty and clean the dirty water tank, suction tube, and roller. The dirty water tank is pressure fitted into the base. You pull the top off and dump the contents out of the base easy enough. The top portion with filter is a bit more of a mess as hair and other crud sticks to it. Hair also gets stuck in the drain of the main unit, which is part of where the cleaning brush comes in. You also must pull the roller off and clean the suction intake. While not very hard, the cleanup isn’t as automatic as you are led to believe. This translates to each time you have a mess you are going to ask if the mess is worth using the Floorwasher and dealing with the cleanup process or if you are better off with paper towels or maybe a quick wet mop and rinse. This is why larger fine cleanups are mostly where it shows its value. Final Thoughts The Tineco Floorwasher Pet 5 Series isn’t all in one floor cleaning solution the advertising might lead you to believe. However, if you are the type that wants your hard floors to be completely clean of any fine debris and crud worthy of walking on barefoot, then this floor washer could be a good fit. Just treat it as a additional tool to add to your floor cleaning tools and not a replacement.
