About this product

In August 1962, Brazilian producer Aloysio de Oliveira created a landmark moment in music history by uniting the founding trio of Bossa Nova on stage for the very first time. Over the course of six weeks, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, and João Gilberto-joined by the vocal group Os Cariocas, with Milton Banana on drums and Otavio Bailly on double bass-captivated audiences at the Au Bon Gourmet restaurant in Copacabana, one of Rio de Janeiro's most iconic neighborhoods. For decades, only those who attended these performances had the privilege of witnessing this unique collaboration. Jorge Ben - Samba Esquema Novo - Limited 180-Gram Vinyl - VINYL LP

180-Gram Virgin Vinyl Limited Edition Jorge Ben's debut album Samba Esquema Novo, which met with great acclaim from fans, and encouraged the Philips tag to capitalize on the success with immediate follow-up albums. Ben's characteristic style fuses samba, funk, rock and bossa nova with lyrics that blend humor and satire with often esoteric subject matter. His hits include InchChove ChuvaInch, InchMas, Que Nada!Inch and InchBalança PemaInch (all included here), have been interpreted by artists such as Caetano Veloso, Sérgio Mendes, Miriam Makeba, Soulfly and Marisa Monte. The song InchMas, Que Nada!Inch was his first big hit in Brazil, and to this day it remains the most played song in the United States sung entirely in Portuguese. Outside of Brazil, the song is better known for it's cover versions by Sérgio Mendes and the Tamba Trio. It has also been reinterpreted by prominent jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie and Al Jarreau. 180-GRAM VIRGIN VINYL - THE COMPLETE ALBUM + 5 BONUS TRACKS

João Gilberto - Desafinado - Limited 180-Gram Vinyl - VINYL LP

180-Gram Limited Edition - *AllMusic. Born in Juazeiro, Bahia, Brazil, singer/ song writer João Gilberto (1931-2019) was a true legend of bossa nova. While Antônio Carlos Jobim set the standard for the creation of bossa nova in the mid-'50s (with songs like InchThe Girl From IpanemaInch and InchDesafinadoInch), it was Gilberto who brilliantly reimagined (and, arguably, defined) the genre. This LP includes the complete contents of his LP Brazil's Brilliant João Gilberto, which received a five-star on AllMusic, plus several of his greatest hits from his early years. 23 TRACKS - 180-GRAM VIRGIN VINYL

Joao Donato - Muito A Vontade - Limited 180gm Vinyl with Bonus Tracks - VINYL LP

180-Gram Limited Edition. An iconic figure of the Bossa Nova, Brazilian pianist, composer and arranger João Donato (1934- 2023) introduced a new original rhythm pattern to the genre. He was profoundly influential, having inspired generations of musicians. João Gilberto confessed to having taken his bossa nova beat at the guitar from Donato's piano playing. Presented here in it's entirety is Donato's album Muito à Vontade, recorded in a quartet in 1962 and featuring the great Milton Banana on drums.
