Tony Mottola - Roman Guitar and Mr. Big - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Two CDs. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Lady Gaga's iconic album Born This Way, The Tenth Anniversary version includes Lady Gaga's original Born This Way album, along with six new versions of songs reimagined by artists representing and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community.

For those not inclined towards Bennett's 4-disc anthology 40 YEARS, this album collection from 1972 is a solid survey of all the singer's hits going all the way back to 1951, including InchRags to RichesInch and the castanet-driven. InchI Left My Heart in San FranciscoInch makes it's appearance midway and the increase in confidence and authority in Bennett's performances after this milestone is readily apparent. From this moment on, Tony Bennett InchownsInch just about any song he sings, as his definitive versions of InchWho Can I Turn To,Inch and InchFor Once in My LifeInch amply demonstrate.

Relive a whole life in songs, filled with the ups and downs of love, full of poetic moments, power, eroticism and a dash of melancholia. Timothy Sharp has a particularly strong affinity for the songs of Richard Strauss that he developed in his studies with Hans Hotter, on of Strauss's favorite singers, and friend.Together with Jan Roelof Wolthuis he tries to expose not only the grandeur but also the quiet, lyrical moments in the songs, that tell the story of a young man who grows old as the disc, a collection featuring some of the most beautiful and important Strauss songs, progresses.
