Also included is Oxley's touching tribute to Bailey, a dynamic new piece for electronics and percussion recorded live at the recent Bailey tribute concert at the London Baricon, 2006. Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Hiromi, John McLaughlin, Branford Marsalis, Zakir Hussain, Mike Stern, Gary Husband, Simon Philips, Wayne Krantz and Steve Lukather may be among the greatest musicians ever known, but they all hold something else in common. At one time or another, these legendary artists have counted on the support of Tony Grey's melodic and propulsive bass. Artists of such stature, virtuosity and standards do not trust just anybody to hold down the foundations of their music. They seek out the best for live performances and recordings. Time and time again these artists turn to Tony Grey. Elevation marks the return of bassist and composer Tony Grey to the Abstract Logix tag after his sophomore - Chasing Shadows. Brilliantly crafted, this very musical outing features a new and never released composition from John McLaughlin, originally written for his friend Chick Corea. Chick's Chums is a great funky tune featuring McLaughlin himself on the guitar, along with percussionist Mino Cinelu. Performing on various tracks of this spectacular album include acclaimed guitarists David Fiuczynski, Mike Stern, Reb Beach, Fabrizio Sotti, Nir Felder, and Tomoyasu Hotei. Album Tracks 1. Guiding Light 2. Chicks Chums 3. Freedom Jazz Dance 4. Floating River Yangtze 5. Galactic Samurai 6. Elevation 7. Walking in, Walking Out 8. Dil Chahata Hai 9. Solar 10. Someday My Prince Will Come

At the heart of this project lies InchI Loves You, Porgy,Inch a timeless composition from George Gershwin's 1935 folk opera Porgy and Bess. The melody, built on just five simple notes, is unforgettable-a testament to Gershwin's genius. Inspired by it's charm, we decided tocenter our album around this piece. While InchI Loves You, PorgyInch has been a staple for countless jazz musicians, our approach was not merely to improvise on it. Instead, we aimed to create InchvariantsInch-transformative interpretations that grew from this iconic piece. It's a unique exploration inspired by Geroge Gershwin. Album Tracks 1. I Loves You, Porgy 2. If You Can Keep Me 3. Chimes 4. By the River 5. Meet You at F 6. Bells 7. Don't Drive Me Mad (Porgy Bop) 8. Play Pray 9. Keys 10. Moontide 11. If You Can Keep Me II 12.
