I needed an external HD to transport Virtual Machines back and forth to school each week. To my surprise I can run the VMs directly from the drive with no precept able lag a great time saver when trying to make the next class. I am sure I will continue to find it beneficial even after graduation perhaps as media storage when I work in the sound booth.

Backing up data is simplified with the included software. It allows you to do a complete backup, backup specific categories of files, and includes a cloud option. My Toshiba laptop hard drive has never had a problem, so I expect the same of this unit.

Really like the compact size and ease of downloading and accessing data from hard drive with USB connection -- replaced old bulky storage device which needed external power and lost the power cord.

I am an old dude. I don't believe in Clouds or extranet storage. I want something I can hold in my hand. I bought this so that I would have a reliable storage system for my digital photographs. It's works beautifully for my intended purpose. I've cataloged all of my pictures from each of my cameras and it will still take me a year or more to fill it up. And when it's full I'll just get another one. It was totally plug and play and since I'm old I appreciate that convenience.

I have been using Toshiba portable drives for a while. They are tough, and the USB 3.0 drives give me enough speed to actually play games like Ryse/Far Cry 4 off them on my laptop. I also use them for work and run Virtual machines, so I didn't hesitate to get another one, especially since the XBOX 360 can handle a 1TB external. I have over 200GB of games and run them off the drive and I have not really noticed a difference between my external and internal drive. Works the way I expect. Highly recommended.

This product is wonderful formatting for MAC and PC storage. I tend to go between the two easily without any issue. But, if you do not need to go on a PC, format the Hard drive for MAC use before trying to store anything. On an Apple desktop, I get a strange disconnect if hooked into the keyboard. Hooked directly into the monitor with no problems. Upload and transfer is fairly quick. Larger files take a few minutes, but no lag once it's available. I especially love how there's no set up required. Other than formatting for MAC.

Bought this portable hard drive for extra storage for my Xbox One. It matches my xbox and plugs into the back, it also have a small blue light on top of it. The light itself is not too bright which is a good thing because some led lights are annoyingly bright. Plugged it in and the xbox formatted it in a matter of seconds and ready to use.

I previously purchased a Toshiba Canvio Slim II 1TB hard drive and was very satisfied with its portability and performance. This hard drive is no different, only trading away the metal finish of the Slim II for a glossy plastic and lacking some of the extra (unnecessary) software. It is extremely light and performs well.

Was on a budget, visited my local Best Buy store in search of an external Hard Drive, and found this Toshiba Canvio. Unbeatable price for a Terabyte of space and name brand device. It works very well, fast USB 3.0 and has done exactly what I needed it for. Highly recommend this product to anyone in need of some extra space!

I've purchased dozens of these drives for clients and they work great. Besides being portable and well-priced, I have not had one go bad yet in 3 years (including the original "Toshiba Connect" series as well). I am using them all on Macs running from Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.10 Yosemite with not problems.

I bought this drive to do Time Machine backups. It's small, easily carried and fairly fast. Being USB 3 and fills my need for speed. I like the smooth case it doesn't snag anything in my pocket. The price was very good and the warranty fair. I would rather have a Toshiba HDD than almost any other HDD.

I use this for my Xbox One. The Xbox recognized it and set up was super easy. Gives a lot of extra storage for games and games run just as good from it as they do from the internal hard drive! Would also make a great external hard drive for computers.

Got this to have some more space on my Xbox One hard drive. The standard XB1 hard drive is 500GB and that starts to fill up quick since games are saved onto the hard drive and are anywhere from 20-70GB each. I bought this 1 TB external hard drive, and it's perfect! I can save games on the external hard drive and easily play games off of it, just as if they were saved on the internal hard drive of my XB1. Also, if I want to play a game at a friend's house and don't want to bring my XB1, I can just plug in the external hard drive into their XB1 and play away. It's a perfect investment!

This is an awesome little external hard drive. Will hold more than I will ever need and small enough to take anywhere. Everyone should have one to protect their photos and documents! Easy to use is what I like.

This 1 TB Toshiba external hard drive is very simple to use and installs automatically when it's attached to your pc. I installed it onto a Mac and it works perfectly, It aslo works with Windows. It's an all round decent product and costs a little less than some other brands, especially Apple products.

Great product. I’ve had this for years and love its portability, speed, reliability and ease of use. I bought a second one for my business partner to use on the go

Very affordable, has good speed and is super easy to install. Being USB, it's basically plug and play. I'm using it with windows 10 without any issues as a backup drive.

Very good, small and high speed external drive. With 1 tb of space, you can store tons of pictures and movies on it. Very small, light, and high speed drive from Toshiba.

Decided to pick this up because I've noticed lately my computer speed is going downhill. Twice in the past I've lost everything on my computer to viruses and hardware failure. This time I decided to be proactive and backup everything to this little drive before it happens. I literally dragged and dropped every file I didn't want to lose to this and there was a lot. The transfer went through without a hitch and in less than 20 minutes all of my files were safely backed up. It's small, fits in he palm of my hand. It's sleek. It's quiet. I would absolutely purchase another one of these.
