Traeger Grills - Ironwood 885 with WiFIRE - Black

The ease of use, the fun of cooking difficult dishes and the comfort of perfect temps makes this the best grill I have ever had. Also the app provides thousands of ideas for new recipes as it also allows you to control every aspect of your cook. This is amazing and im so glad I joined the Traeger Nation!

I bought this after waiting for a month for Best Buy to get it in stock as it was sold out almost instantly when they first carried it. As soon as I saw it available I jumped on it. I consider myself a good griller. I also own a gas and charcoal but this grill (named Sir-Ribs-A-Lot) is becoming my go-to. The Wi-Fi notifications and control are the key to success here. I have smoked 4 pork shoulders and a brisket overnight. I have comfort knowing that I will get an alert if pellets are low or if temps are inconsistent. The first overnighter was a bit nerve wracking but it delivered (brisket for mother's day). The last few pork shoulders have produced the best pulled pork I've ever had. All of the meat has been the juiciest of anything I've ever grilled, which blew my mind due to the length of the cook (low and slow). I haven't yet perfected ribs yet (1 attempt) but everything else has been flawless with the recipes and directions that are included IN THE APP. The smart controller keeps the temperature within a few degrees of your target temp (unless your bacon grease flares up. RIP Jalapeno Poppers.) I also got the extra front shelf (highly recommended) and the liners (tin foil is too thin and gets thinner with long cooks). Pellet grills need to be cleaned out more regularly. I recommend a small battery operated shop-vac for the task. Bonus points to BBY for having a huge selection of pellets as well. I'm exited to try all of the different kinds (apple, hickory, signature, cherry, mesquite, pecan). Traeger does a lot of marketing. They are the known brand for pellet grills. There might be others that are cheaper, but you will have no hesitations or regrets with this purchase.

So far, so good! Got the new smoker last Thursday and put together in an easy process, by myself, following included instructions. Smoked 3 racks of ribs the following day to perfection (I am an experienced smoker with no needed learning curve), and then smoked 4 pounds of jerky the following day. I would say, buy more pellets sooner than later as I used over 20 pounds with 10 hours of smoke. Depends on cook length, temp, smoke style. Just don’t get caught without enough pellets. Love this new smoker!!

This thing changes the way you grill. Food is more tender and moist then any other grill… it’s also very easy to operate.. the low and slow is so nice being able to monitor the temp and pellets from my app… change temp if it’s cooking to slow or fast right from the app.. and if your foods done but your not around just hit that keep warm button and your food will stay hot… just don’t leave it on keep warm for too long or it will dry out…

This is amazing being able to create what I would consider restaurant quality foods at home. I have tried burgers, ribs, ribeye, chicken thighs, apple cranberry cobbler, and a few Chex mix recipes and everything turns out great. Just follow instructions for care of the grill, set up the app (easy with a good WiFi connection where the smoker will sit) and start cooking. I can cook steaks in 20 min or 3 hours depending on how much smoky flavor I want. I was concerned about too heavy of a smoke flavor but each cook has been right on. Most recipes I have followed through the Traeger app and they guide you well.
