Temperature control is a breeze with this grill. I’ve grilled chicken, pork ribs, steaks and turkey breast on mine so far and each one the meat is cooked to my liking and juicy. I would have had to hover ocer my charcoal grill to get the same reaults. The My new grill has definitely stepped up my grillin game. You need to get one you won’t regret it.

Hubby deserved an amazing gift for all his hard work over the years and since we are getting older I wanted to get him this to help with smoking the meat in an easier less stressful manner. He loves the original smoker but this has been in his sites for a few years wondering just how much easier and less work this could possibly make his smoking. Well I did it. I got him this and he is in LOVE! He still loves me more, but this is a close second! Why oh why did I wait so long to buy this amazing grill! If you are on the edge spouses, just do it! You won’t regret it! Your significant other deserves one too! Enjoy the beef!

I waited to post a review so I could more honestly post an unbiased review after a few cooks. When I bought this model, I was offered at checkout to have someone or a crew (I don't know) to come my place of residence to assemble and level. At $199.00. Bump that noise, unless you're lazier than me when it comes to doing what a man should, assemble that grill yourself. GET FAMILIAR! But I digress, if you have plenty of disposable income, then undoubtedly have Mr. Belvedere do it for you. (You're losing man points). I won't call this a grill. To me, it's more of a convection oven that produces angry smoke. The built in fans do work like a workhorse. That said, I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from adding this brand to their arsenal. If you're seeking smoke...buy it. (Seriously, the smoke is ridiculous.) When I first cut it on, the smoke was overwhelming within 3 minutes. The lower the temperature, the harder this Bad Baby will output in regards to smoke. An 18Lb. hopper for the pellets will sustain most large smokes. As a best practice, I would recommend that you vacuum out the fire pot after each use. (PLEASE REMEMBER TO LET THE GRILL COMPLETLY COOL BEFORE DOING SO, LIKE THE NEXT DAY.) Those embers in the fire pot can remain for hours after use. I've smoked butts and briskets on my MasterBuilt and they've turned out great, but the Masterbuilt cannot smoke like a Traeger. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because of the indirect heat method. I don't think it's ideal for things you would require a flame for, such as Burgers and Steaks when a sear is desired. Equally, I haven't tried it yet, so be your own judge. But I will say anything you can do in an oven, the Traeger will do it BETTER! My family was impressed when I decided to smoke Cornbread Dressing on it. I also gave it a trial run smoking a 25Lb. Turkey before the upcoming 2021 Thanksgiving Holiday, in which I decided to Spatchcock to prevent the Turkey from drying out. For those that don't know, Spatchcock is to remove the backbone and Butterfly, greatly reducing cooking time on large birds and to retain a flavorful and juicy end result. I smoked the Turkey at 225* for 2 hours, then cranked it up to 350* for 3 1/2 hours until I reached an internal temperature of 165* I let it rest for 20 minutes, then carved it. 5 1/2 hours total cooking time, freeing up the heat in your Kitchen on that special day with your friends & family. This grill comes with 2 probes to monitor the internal temperature but since I'm lazy and I don't want to walk to my grill to check the temp, and this model isn't blue tooth compatible, I chose to continue to use my BBQ dragon which comes with a transmitter and receiver, with an alarm to monitor my smokes while watching the games. Roll Tide, Y'all. (Don't Hate, but seriously, ROLL TIDE! ) Traeger's big thing is set it and forget it, and as long as your taking care of your new Traeger, you can have peace of mind that you can do just that. Overall, It's a solid piece of equipment. So in conclusion, I've included a couple pics of the aforementioned Turkey, but even if you're new and a self proclaimed smoking enthusiast, then YES, you will spend more money on a Traeger, but if you plan properly, you will become a backyard legend instantly. My Best & Happy Smoking.

This is my first smoker and I have to say I’m incredibly impressed. The setup was easy and the use with the Traeger app is simple. I will say this was a bit bigger than it seems in the photos although I’m happy with that because I can cook a few extra things at once.

I've been smoking this brisket for 22hrs now, thinking it's been at 225 degrees, I put 3 different thermometers because I was trying to figure out why the grill says 225 but my meat thermometer was showing 190 ambient temp, I thought it was defective, then i brought out my old analog and 2 digital ones with probes, started placing them above and under the brisket on the side, etc... The problem is that traeger has the main probe on the side where the heat comes up, so the center of the grill is way less, so if you want to cook at 225, you need to actually set it to 250 or 275 degrees... I'm so disappointed with this grill, I've gone through a whole 20lb bag and opened a 2nd bag. It's actually taking me longer than an off set smoker. The photo I uploaded shows the graph, but I didn't use it from the beginning so it only shows about 18.5hrs... I've had it set at 225 this whole time... I recharged it thinking the meat plus probe was defective... So it's actually been cooking under 200 degrees this whole time, around 190 degrees... Uploaded a photo of the other thermpro thermometer the probe above the brisket is the temp on the top, traeger reads 284 but it's really around 248... Also it's like missing a gasket around the lid, it has so much leak, you see smoke coming out of everywhere when it's trying to raise temp... Like i said i am disappointed in this thing...

After struggling with my previous Camp Chef smoker for a decade, which consistently gave me trouble, clocked and had several back-fires, switching to the Traeger Pro 34 has been amazing. From the moment I set it up, I was impressed by its build quality, ease of use, and consistent performance without any clogs or problems. It heats evenly, holds temperature reliably, and has made grilling and smoking a joy rather than a chore. I couldn’t be happier with this upgrade and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free, high-quality pellet grill. If I had one complaint, its that the prob temperature doesn't stay on screen. you have to go out and press the button to see the probe temp. Thats minor and I'm planning on moving to smart probes.

This pellet smoker is awesome. I have used all kinds of smokers over the years. I used to go out in the woods and cut my own hickory trees down. I would cut them up into chunks and use them on a charcoal smoker just to get the smoke flavor. I would get out of bed every 3 hours in the middle of the night just to tend to the wood smoker. I’ve progressed from charcoal to gas smokers, to electric and everything in between even a few DIY builds along the way.. My Masterbuilt electric smoker died a while back and I bought this one. I was skeptical at first that I made the right choice however, after using it several times I have fallen in love. It works great, has a really good flavor, and it’s really easy to use. I know the diehard “pit bosses” will say anyone can use those and make good food. Well yea, that’s the point. I just want good food!! I don’t need bragging rights. I’ll let the food do the talking.
