About this product
Back in the '70s, both Pat Travers and Carmine Appice were responsible for laying down the boogie - Travers as a leader of the Pat Travers Band, and Appice as a member of Cactus and Beck Bogert & Appice. Fast forward three decades later, and the duo has decided to combine their talents (along with session pro bassist T.M. Stevens), as Travers & Appice. Touring in support of a debut album with the title of It Takes a Lot of Balls, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that their shows were rift with testosterone-heavy rock (but with a bluesy feel). Less than a year after the arrival of their debut comes a concert set, 2005's Live at the House of Blues. With Travers & Appice splitting the vocal duties, the group harks back to the days when power trios ruled the earth. Focusing primarily on tracks from their debut, selections such as InchTaken,Inch InchBetter From a Distance,Inch and InchKeep on Rockin'Inch benefit from a live setting, as their bluesy swagger is even more overstated. Also included are winks to both player's pasts - Travers with InchBoom, BoomInch and Appice with a re-worked, rockin' version of Rod Stewart's disco hit, InchDo Ya Think I'm Sexy.Inch Admittedly however, the lyrics are moronic in spots, with the usual hard livin'/roadside bar fare. But if tough blues-rock is your thing, it's best to experience it in a live setting, and Live at the House of Blues delivers.

![De Arma - Strayed in Shadows - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/0d01c048-607d-494d-95fa-6be3ae8524f4.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Melancholy is a delicate matter. This haunting emotion can in one moment sting unbearably painful yet at other times even deliver a bittersweet pleasure to the afflicted. Yet there can be no doubt that this feeling permeates all of the songs on de Arma's sophomore full-length InchStrayed in ShadowsInch in one way or the other. And while the Swedes shift musically in and out and between melancholic metal, gothic rock, shoegaze, and even post-punk, melancholy remains the duo's anchor point. Although geography is often overrated in the interpretation of music, there is no denying that long winters' darkness high up North has left a mark on this duo. On InchStrayed in ShadowsInch the line-up has undergone a significant change. In the place of Fen and Fellwarden mastermind Frank InchThe WatcherInch Allain, who sang on the album debut InchLost, Alien & ForlornInch (2013), guitarist and bass-player Andreas Pettersson, who founded de Arma in 2009, took over vocal duties as he already does in Stilla among other bands. This decision was partly caused by the extremely personal nature of his lyrics for InchStrayed in ShadowsInch. He is supported by the beautiful guest performance of Maria Oja on the tracks 'Illusions of Love' and 'Days of Judgement' - a constellation inviting comparison with acts such as Anathema and Antimatter. Particularly in those two songs, but also throughout other passages on InchStrayed in ShadowsInch, another aspect of de Arma becomes more prominent Despite all the darkness and melancholy inherent in the duo's songs, there is also a warm feeling of comfort and shelter. With InchStrayed in ShadowsInch, de Arma send a ray of light to invite you into their warm shelter in a sea of Nordic melancholy.

Jadu Heart are Diva-Sachy Jeffrey and Alex Headford, from London and Huddersfield respectively. Following in the footsteps of cult boy/girl bands before them such as Pixies, My Bloody Valentine and Belle and Sebastian, they have grown outside of the music industry slowly building their own world and crafting their own unique perspective. Having moved from electronic shoegaze to psych-rock to grungy lo-fi across their two EPs and two albums it's hard to guess where they will go next sonically but their army of cult-like followers have learned to trust them. Despite little radio support or hype they sell out shows around the world to an audience of die hard fans & consistently get 100,000 streams a day. Theirs is a world built between two people endlessly collaborating to create meaning, develop philosophies and communicate complex emotions with melody.
