About this product
The title stands for the idea of re-coloring - for consciously questioning listeners' expectations and musical attributions, between tradition and new beginnings. What happens when classical forms, harmonic contrasts, and contemporary musical languages collide? The rare combination of harp, clarinet, and cello in the Trianima ensemble creates a delicate, transparent soundscape that opens up space for nuances and subtleties.

The combination of flute, viola and harp instruments is one of the most unusual and delightful chamber music combinations, as the Trio Partout brilliantly proves with their album InchPlay of ColorsInch. Probably the first work in music history for this line-up was by Claude Debussy, who composed his InchSonate pour flûte, alto et harpeInch in 1915 under the impact of the beginning of the First World War. Only a year later, the British composer Arnold Bax published his InchElegiac TrioInch, which acts as a kind of dream sequence through the ostinato harp arpeggios and lyrical elements of viola and flute. Harald Genzmer is considered one of the key composers of German music after the Second World War, and in 1947 wrote the Trio for flute, viola and harp, whose impressionistic sound images seemingly refer to Debussy. The Austrian composer Johannes Maria Staud uses a variety of modern playing techniques in his work InchSydenham MusicInch from 2011.

For this album, we have decided to record three works written between 1916 and 1926. In that period marked by the First World War and it's aftermath, itis remarkable to note these three composers' widely varying creative approaches and ideas. Composed during a summer stay at the French seaside resort of Capbreton, Frank Martin's piano trio has accompanied us on our journey as an ensemble ever since we were students. It's unique melodic approach combined with complex rhythms based on Irish and Celtic folk music always remain a wonderful challenge and never cease to rekindle our enjoyment in making music together! Two of us - Gergana and Pavlin - have been familiar with the music of Pancho Vladigerov ever since early childhood. His sole piano trio, a monumental work in A Minor, captivates us with it's original melodies and harmonies. Although Vladigerov finished writing it during his studies in Berlin, we also find that it has unmistakable traces of Bulgarian folklore. With joy and enthusiasm, we have incorporated it into our repertoire; now, with this recording, we are thrilled to make it known to a wider audience of interested music lovers. Joaquin Turina's frequently performed Second Piano Trio is a work we discovered somewhat by chance in 2011. After only one rehearsal we were already fascinated with this colorful, highly emotional composition that presents Spanish harmonies and rhythms in a thoroughly authentic way, as in the dancelike Scherzo in typical 5/8 meter. We always look forward to playing this work, renewing our acquaintance with it as with an old beloved friend, and having the opportunity to share it with the audience! Album Tracks 1. Trio sur des mélodies populaires irlandaises, for Piano Trio~Allegro moderato 2. Trio sur des mélodies populaires irlandaises, for Piano Trio~Adagio 3. Trio sur des mélodies populaires irlandaises, for Piano Trio~

The Trio Klavis (Jenny Lippl, violin / Miha Ferk, alto saxophone / Sabina Hasanova, piano) presents three distinctive arrangements on it's new GENUIN . In their arrangements for piano trio with alto saxophone, the award-winning musicians achieve an astonishing tonal unity in the works of Johannes Brahms (originally with horn), Dmitri Shostakovich (originally with cello), and Ernst Krenek (originally with clarinet). Keyboard, wind, and string instruments join forces to create a true unity, dedicating themselves with tremendous verve to the tonal languages from Romanticism to Modernism in the extremely diverse masterpieces.
