Tritonal - Coalesce - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. InchRepetition is a form of change,Inch reads one of Brian Eno's Oblique Strategies. Seth Haley knows the concept well, and his style of technicolor synth-wave takes the mantra as a challenge. Six years after Galactic Melt introduced the cosmic story of Com Truise, Iteration now concludes his sprawling saga. True to it's name, the album is built on Com Truise hallmarks neon-streaked melodies, big drums, robotic grooves, bleary nostalgia. But Iteration is also the most elegant and streamlined that Haley's singular music has ever sounded. At the album's heart is an elaborate narrative, one full of longing, hope, anxiety, and triumph. Iteration illustrates the last moments Com Truise spends on the perilous planet Wave 1, before he and his alien love escape it's clutches to live in peace. Inch... Of Your Fake DimensionInch launches the interstellar drama with it's anthem swells and widescreen sound design, before lovesick songs like InchDryswchInch and InchPropagationInch outline scenes wrought with cybernetic pathos. Later, the frantic rhythms of InchSyrthioInch conjure images of panicked flight as Haley's gorgeous synth melodies gild the action in quiet heartbreak. Then comes the resounding InchWhen Will You Find The Limit... Inch, when Iteration's pain and sadness finds liberation in the vast unknown. The closing title track ends it all in a gush of majestic revelry.

Double vinyl LP pressing. 2011 from Com Truise, one of the many pseudonyms of New Jersey designer/musician Seth Haley. After his well-received Cyanide Sisters EP, a grip of remixes for artists like Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, and Daft Punk, and a few floating MP3s, Galactic Melt finally enters your brain spaces. And what an appropriate title it bears. Haley envisioned Galactic Melt as a sort of film score, from the mind, chronicling the lift and death of Com Truise, the world's first synthetic/robotic astronaut, from his creation and life on earth to his subsequent mission to a newly discovered galaxy called Wave 1. Eventually, Truise becomes one with his newfound cosmos, like Pinocchio becoming a real boy, but in the nether regions of imaginary space.
