Twice a Man - Icicles - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2015 from the Swedish electronic act. After releasing Icicles in 2010, Twice a Man made the transition back into theater and fine arts related environments. In 2012 the limited numbered Costume Area was released - a 49 minute 47 second ambient track, based on music composed for an exhibition at the Stockholm Dance Museum. Far from a commercial product, the CDs sold out in way less than 49 minutes and 47 seconds and a second edition had to be printed. In 2014, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of the album From a Northern Shore. By bringing back Jocke Söderqvist on stage they ensured the anniversary gigs were very memorable for the fans. The gigs were also memorable for the band, as the creative chemistry in the reunited trio was still present. Almost inevitably the gentlemen ended up writing new songs together, for the first time since the mid-‘80s. Album Tracks 1. A Time of Terror 2. Here Comes the Rain 3. A World Is Gone 4. Black 5. Twice a Man planted the seed for InchThe Coloured Breeze Is a New DimensionInch with the song 'Dahlia', a 'new' track that was written to complement the compilation album InchSongs of Future MemoriesInch. For three years, the Swedish dark electronic trio fertilised and nurtured the germ bud until it had taken firm root in their musical heritage and began to send offshoots to find new sonic spots beyond any previously built garden walls. InchThe Coloured Breeze Is a New DimensionInch is an organic entity that creates something new by re-combining it's musical DNA in various ways. As a result it's tracks blossom in many hues of electronic colours. Twice a Man have always been pioneers. They spearheaded electronic music in their native Sweden. Long before it was fashionable, the Swedes positioned themselves as environmentalists. Musically, they have been lovingly described as InchUltravox on weedInch also melancholic but without the saccharine pathosInch or Inchlike a sad Gary Numan, but with a warm, organic touchInch. There are also gentle echoes of TANGERINE DREAM, KLAUS SCHULZE, and THE HUMAN LEAGUE among many other possible references. When singer, guitarist, and keyboarder Dan Söderqvist teamed up with synth player Karl Gasleben in 1977, the duo formed COSMIC OVERDOSE as the first electronic band in Scandinavia, which grew into Twice a Man. During their remarkable career, the Swedes released a multitude of full-length albums that include special projects and two compilations. They also played countless shows, and went on to create a soundtrack for 7 full-evening theatre performances at The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, music for movies, exhibitions, dance performances, and computer games. The natural world remains as a strong presence in the lyrics and sound of InchThe Coloured Breeze Is a New DimensionInch. It is the musical equivalent of Twice a Man seeking
