About this product

Twiggs is a band featuring some pedigree artists, like singer Caroline of Ugglas, a charismatic lady who had international success a few years back as a solo act. From classic Swedish rock band the Nomads comes Hasse Östlund on guitar and the rhythm section from cult band Monostar. Together they form a band with plenty of power and the ability to vary their sound without losing that punch. 'Waltzing' will be the first from their 2005 album.

The Waltz - Looking-Glass Self - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

If The Waltz were a drink, it'd be a slamming cocktail of Panoramix's magic potion, mixed with Red Bull, some coffee and a strong Belgian Tripel beer. Young, eager and firmly rooted in the present, The Waltz present an eclectic sound best described as post-punk larded with a heavy dose of noise and a hint of pop. During the pandemic, The Waltz dove into the DUNK! Studios in Zottegem, Belgium and recorded their debut album. When asked if there's a common thread running through the album, the answer was Inchnot what it seemsInch. The lyrics, sprung from the turbulent brain of singer/vocalist - and part time anthropologist - Kevin Anne, are seemingly inspired by a macabre mirrored world only he knows exists. The result is a crushing debut-album with barbed-wired songs and catchy hooks sometimes wildly kicking around (InchEgocideInch) and sometimes anointing and soft (InchPrying EyesInch). The Waltz are a band that perfectly capture the zeitgeist of 2021. A firm head-butt with a kiss on the cheek afterwards. You won't know what to remember first the bang or the catharsis.

Faure / Chapel Choir Of Royal Hospital Chelsea - In Remembrance - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

In the centenary anniversary year of the end of the First World War and on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War, SOMM Recordings pays tribute to those who fought and fell in battle with In Remembrance. A moving compendium of music spanning 130 years, it features the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Choir of Chelsea Pensioners, Staff and Volunteers, sopranos Katy Hill and Leah Jackson, baritone Gareth John and organists James Orford and Hugh Rowlands under the direction of William Vann. Founded in 1682 by King Charles II, the Royal Hospital is home to the world-famous Chelsea Pensioners - retired veterans of the British army - whose contributions on three tracks adds it's own special poignancy to In Remembrance. Moving choral works commemorating courage and offering comfort by Hubert Parry, Gustav Holst, and Edward Elgar are heard alongside equally affecting pieces by their contemporaries and successors, Charles Villiers Stanford, John Ireland, Douglas Guest and Charles Harris. Fauré's Requiem, arranged for choir and organ by Iain Farrington, and Ian Venable's newly-composed Requiem aeternam (in it's first recording) both offer succor and solace in their conviction that death is not the end but, as Fauré thought of it Incha happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above, rather than as a painful experience.Inch
