Tyme Machines - Straight Club Bangers - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Initially a rough demo tape recorded solely by Coil member Drew McDowall, Time Machines started to take full form when McDowall enthusiastically delivered these demo recordings to bandmates John Balance and Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson as sketches for a new Coil project with the primary goal of shifting Coil's sound further into a more conceptually abstract direction. Largely recorded in 1997 using single takes with minimal post production, these four drones contain every intended fluctuation and tone, along with every glitch of the original - InchArtifacts generated by your listening environment are an intrinsic part of the experience.InchEach of the four pieces on Time Machines is named after the chemical compound of the hallucinogenic drug that they were composed for. Time Machines was meticulously crafted to enable what John Balance referred to as Inchtemporal slipsInch in time and space, allowing both the artist and audience to figuratively Inchdissolve timeInch. The compact disc edition includes reproductions of the six original vinyl stickers and comes housed in a gatefold chipboard digipack featuring spot gloss overlay. Album Tracks 1. 7-Methoxy-ß-Carboline (Telepathine) 2. 2,5-Dimethoxy-4-Ethyl-Amphetamine (Doet/Hecate) 3. 5-Methoxy-N, N-Dimethyl (5-Meo-Dmt) 4. 4-Indolol, 3-[2-(Dimethylamino)Ethyl], Phosphate Ester (Psilocybin)

The Tymes are an American soul vocal group, who enjoyed equal success in the United Kingdom and in their homeland. They share the distinction of being one of the few acts to have one and only one chart-topper in both the US and UK with different titles. The group was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1956 as the Latineers, by Donald Banks (bass), Albert Berry (first tenor), Norman Burnett (baritone), and George Hilliard (second tenor). After a four-year stint on Philadelphia's club circuit, they recruited a new lead vocalist, George Williams in 1960, and changed their name to The Tymes. The Tymes had hits in the UK in the 1960s and 1970s with songs such as InchSo Much in LoveInch, a US chart topper and million-seller in 1963, InchWonderful! Wonderful!Inch, a remake of the Johnny Mathis classic hit from 1957, InchSomewhereInch, InchYou Little TrustmakerInch and InchMs GraceInch. The last of these became the group's biggest UK hit, reaching Number One in the UK Singles Chart in 1975. Their song InchSo Much in LoveInch was elected to the Songs of the Century in 2001. In 2005 The Tymes were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The Tymes continue to perform with surviving original members Berry and Burnett.
