Will Not Shut Off
Everyone in my family loves nugget ice and we decided to make the splurge in our remodel to purchase this ice maker. There are several awesome features that I love about this, but there is one fatal flaw that keeps me from recommending it to anyone at this time. First off, the pros. This makes wonderful, soft, crunchy, chewable nugget ice. You can change the density level on the ice and it can be really soft, or firmer depending on your preference. It has a built in water filter and a water dispenser in the unit. The water dispenser is a little slow, but the water taste great. The unit is very quiet and once the bin fills a little bit from empty, you barely hear it. It comes with a ice scoop and has an interior light. The ice maker makes lots of ice... I mean LOTS of ice really fast. And here lies the problem and the fatal flaw... it makes too much ice. The machine will not stop making ice! I believe I have a defective unit. I have called and made a warranty claim with the manufacturer. I waited a couple of months the technician came out and replaced the sensor that is supposed to tell the unit to shut off when full, but it did not work. The same thing keeps happening and the ice bin fills completely and forces open the door when it gets full and ice spills out over the floor. I have turned the icemaker off as I am worried about water damage to my cabinets. I cannot recommend this product at this time. However, if we can get the unit fixed or in working order, I will update this review as this ice maker has a lot of potential.

Great Nugget Ice!
Sleek design. Quick to make nugget ice. Makes audible noise when running its cycle. Sounds like a dishwasher running. Very low decibel but noticeable.

They don't stand behind their products
U-line has terrible customer service. The delivered unit had an internal leak when it was finally delivered and installed. I then waited for a replacement. I'd have to look but I'd say six months from the "purchase". The new unit has now stopped pumping, so the reservoir fills with water. I am now waiting on service. However, I've discovered you have to register your unit within 60 days of purchase or you are not eligible for warranty for years 2 or 3. If you don't receive the unit for six months and don't know, you're out of luck I suppose. This should be illegal. I've also been unable to get customer service to tell me what date they are using for the start date.
