I have sciatica and can not sit for extended periods of time. I purchased the stand so I could switch between standing and sitting while working online for my masters degree and it works wonderfully. I also like that it is light weight and portable like my laptop, however my one complaint is that on extending the stand you have to hold the base down while pulling the top up. The salesman warned me about this at time of purchase so I was prepared for it and have since worked out a system for opening and closing the stand. I am happy with my purchase as it does exactly what I wanted it for.
