I've only had the uniden one month and to me it has already paid for itself. If I get a voice alert there's a cruiser close by every time, thanks uniden.

I wait a bit to review this as I wanted to be able to test all aspects of it. The design is simple and it is a plug and go detector. I had a few X band hits due to some older auto doors. K band has a pretty good range and not a lot of false hits because of car sensors. The Ka band is great. It detects much better than the last one I had with a much longer range

Has been great. Notifies me ahead where other radar/laser detectors have not. When you are hit with a laser signal it does go off and screams pop. just let off the gas and you'll be fine.

I purchased this for my wife and she loves it! We were used to the older detectors going off for no reasons and not going off when it should.this thing has been 100% right so far in 3 weeks of clipping down the freeway.The voice alert is cool.Best gift ever! Saves money and time!

I like the slender style detector and mount don’t take up too much space on your windshield and kept me alerted on any upcoming radar area’s being worked in time to check my speed. Its good enough for what i needed on traveling .A+

At first I was a bit skeptical because it’s not $300+; that was until I heard that beautiful alarm sounding, notifying me that there was a radar in my near future. I don’t speed often, but when I do, this bad boy steps up to the plate and has you covered! I will also note that I have not had one false alarm either. I don’t why I’ve waited so long to buy one.

Ok, I hesitated not spending more when I bought this for my husband as a gift but this thing has been AMAZING. It’s accurate, it doesn’t beep when it shouldn’t, it works like a charm and has saved him from many speeding tickets.

Second purchase of this model. Love it. It has definitely paid for itself. Don’t have the features of the high priced models but I don’t care about those. I just want to be alerted to radar from a distance which this model does perfectly

I don’t always believe the more expensive something cost the better it works or better quality it is. I bought this and it was decently priced and works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this!

The radar detector does exactly what it is supposed to...warns me of upcoming speed zones.

I just wanted a simple to use, easy to install, inexpensive radar detector for city and highway driving. The Uniden DFR5 is exactly that. It is just the right size, not to big. I installed on my lower center windshield.

Does the job! Alerts you of police in the area and your speed. A must have for heavy driving
