About this product
There are times in life when it feels like darkness will consume the light. Suffering. Loss. The emptiness that follows. At a distance, we can steel ourselves against the grim inevitabilities of disease, dementia and deterioration in old age, but when more intimately faced with their impact, it becomes easy to imagine some hidden demon gorging on the misery wrought. From such pain was birthed Urne's savage second album A Feast On Sorrow. InchThere were a lot of dark times,Inch sighs frontman Joe Nally. InchLosing people is a horrible thing; when the reality hits, it shocks. I was full of pent-up emotion - anger, confusion - and I could only seem to that through aggression. This is much darker. There were quite a few 'fun' elements to our first LP Serpent & Spirit. There aren't many of those here.Inch Alongside mercurial guitarist Angus Neyra and newly-recruited master drummer James Cook, the mission was to create something definitive. Unexpectedly, they'd be assisted in that by Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier - already a vocal fan of the band - who invited the Londoners to record at his Silver Cord studio in Brooklyn, New York and came onboard to produce. From blistering opener opener InchThe Flood Came Rushing InInch and the brutalist introspection of InchTo Die TwiceInch to epic 11-minute pillars InchA Stumble Of WordsInch and InchThe Longer Goodbye/Where Do The Memories GoInch, the blend of wreckage and is utterly breathtaking. InchThe personal story I'm telling in this album is still ongoing, but it feels like I've been able to say what I needed to say,Inch Nally concludes. InchIt was an incredibly cathartic experience to be able to write this album, to scream it, to hear it back. I've got my emotions out. I've got my meaning out. I've got my message out. What I needed to do is done.Inch

Slugger, the debut LP from Sad13 a.k.a. Sadie Dupuis, prioritizes self-possession in every sense. Sadie, who fronts the dynamite grunge-pop band Speedy Ortiz, forewent her usual modes of collaboration on Slugger, writing and producing the record herself-Inchto exorcise my control-freaky demons,Inch she says. Slugger-produced by Dupuis, mixed by Gabe Wax (Beirut, Wye Oak, Boots) and mastered by Emily Lazar (Sia, HAIM, Sky Ferreira)-is less rock-principled than Sadie's other projects, but the talented guitarist makes intelligent work of her instrument throughout the record. The guitar lines are layered with synth melodies written on her laptop and are, occasionally, joined by live drums from Julian Fader (currently of Ava Luna; formerly bandmates with Sadie in Quilty).

Mourn is a very young quartet formed from the friendship of Jazz Rodreguez Bueno and Carla Pérez Vas- both born in 1996 in El Maresme, Catalonia, Spain. The duo armed themselves with inspiration from PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Sebadoh and Sleater Kinney and began writing material, which they quickly released on their YouTube channel. Despite being teenagers, earlier this year they came out of the studio (along with drummer Antonio Postius and bassist Leia Rodriguez) with a brilliant treatise of indie rock that has stunned those who have had the opportunity to listen to it.

Finnish melodic death metal newcomers Shade Of Sorrow will be releasing their debut album 'Upon the Fields of Grief' this summer. - The one-man project is spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist Mika Kankainen, the former drummer of Finnish bands Soul Terror, and Warceremony. With Shade Of Sorrow, Mika plays all instruments including drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, while also handling vocals showcasing his immense talent and virtuosity. - The genesis of this band started back in 2017 when demo songs were sent to friend and collaborator Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart, Before the Dawn, Dawn of Solace, etc.) who promptly agreed to produce. Fast forward to 2020, their busy schedules finally lined up and they went into the studio to record the first two Shade Of Sorrow songs - InchNo ReturnInch and InchFabricated Hope,Inch each receiving glowing reviews. Both songs were recorded, mixed and mastered by Esa Uusimaa (Wolfheart, Rain of Acid, Crowen) with vocals produced by Juha Kylmanen (To/Die/For, For My Pain...) from Whiteleaf Studios. Those two songs were then followed up by a stand-alone digital single InchMeteorInch in 2022. Videos were made for all 3 songs and will be available on the forthcoming full-length , along with 6 new ones once again produced by Saukkonen.
