Vampire Circus - BLU-RAY

A sadistic group of clowns kidnap an unsuspecting man, Don, forcing him to play a deadly game in order to save his family. Don finds himself at the center of the clowns mayhem and struggles to follow the horrifying rules of the game. Trapped in a moral dilemma, Don realizes he will do anything to save his family from the bloodthirsty clowns and escape the maniacal circus.

Out of the entire Hammer canon InchVampire CircusInch has got to be one of the strangest things they ever did! It is an offbeat, highly surreal number with oodles of blood and gore thrown in. A Transylvanian village is sealed off from the outside world due to an outbreak of the plague. Anyone who tries to get in or out is shot dead by the police. Nevertheless a travelling circus somehow breaks through the lines, and boy, are all it's bloodless-looking performers a wee bit strange! There is a gypsy male who seems to be able to turn himself into a panther, and a pair of very creepy acrobatic twins, who seem impervious to pain and can transform themselves into birds. All of it is presided over by Adrienne Corri, who makes a suitably vampy Ring-Mistress. Added to all this the village itself is living under a curse imposed on them by an aristocrat they killed several years before for being a vampire, all of which is related in the violent and blood-splattered opening sequence to the film. A Creepy Hammer horror with bite!

Legendary screen baddie Anton Diffring (The Man Who Could Cheat Death, Where Eagles Dare) plays a brilliant but deranged plastic surgeon wanted by the authorities, who flees to France and under an assumed name acquires, by murder, a rundown circus. His first recruit into this three-ring nightmare is a disfigured female criminal whom he transforms by plastic surgery and trains as a high-wire artist. Within ten years he builds the circus into one of the most successful in all of Europe. But when a series of mysterious deadly accidents occur the continental police are alerted. They are never able to prove any crime but when the Circus of Horrors comes to England a detective sets out to unveil the bizarre and bloodcurdling truth. George Baxt (The City of the Dead) writes, Sidney Hayers (Burn, Witch, Burn) directs, and Yvonne Monlaur (The Brides of Dracula) and the distinguished Donald Pleasence (The Flesh and the Fiends) co-star in this cult British chiller which promises spectacular, towering terror.
