About this product

Digitally remastered edition. With their 1978 eponymous debut, Van Halen simultaneously rewrote the rules of rock guitar and hard rock in general. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen redefined what the electric guitar could do, developing a blindingly fast technique with a variety of self-taught two-handed tapping, hammer-on's, pull-offs, and effects that mimicked the sounds of machines and animals. It was wildly inventive and over the top, equaled only by vocalist David Lee Roth, who brought the role of a metal singer to near-performance art standards. Mastering engineer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums at Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios, was enlisted for this new version. In order to produce the original sound the band intended, Bellman cut straight from the quarter-inch tapes.

Various Artists - Boss Black Rockers Vol 6: Mardi Gras Rock (Various Artists) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Dear Cats and Kittens, dig this cool array of killer black Rock and Roll from the InchGolden AgeInch of American music. So many similar projects were devoted through the years to white rock and rollers (even the most obscure and unknown) and very little to the people that not only InchoriginatedInch this music and played it long before white musicians started to fool around with it. They also continued to play it when black Rhythm and Blues music was suddenly re-named InchRock and RollInch to appeal to a wider white audience in segregated America and became a multi-racial genre in the mid-1950s. Some tunes are pretty well-known but the vast majority are not. I'm pretty sure you have never heard a lot of the tracks included here - even if a lot of them were pretty popular in the 1950s among both black and white Rock and Roll fans. Most of the artists in this new collection were actually household names in the InchRock and Roll WorldInch of the 50s and early 60s. I sure hope this new series of 10 complimentary volumes will finally set things straight. Dig it!

KNEECAP - Fine Art - VINYL LP

When Belfast's KNEECAP - aka Mo Chara, Moglaí Bap and DJ Provaí - entered the studio with producer Toddla T in the summer of 2023, they quickly decided to scrap everything they had already prepared and 'build' a pub together. The Rutz is currently a figment of their imagination, but across Fine Art's twelve tracks, and the interconnecting moments between them, it comes to life vividly, providing the perfect backdrop for the cast of characters that appear throughout. Like the band themselves, Fine Art is fiercely intelligent, consistently hilarious, and genuinely thought provoking. It seamlessly merges Irish with English and satire with socially conscious lyrics. It's genius is to immerse you in a world thus far unrepresented in modern music. The group also recently took this year's Sundance Film Festival by storm with their self-titled Rich Peppiatt directed semi-biopic film starring Michael Fassbender.

Van Halen - Van Halen II - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Digitally remastered edition of this 1979 album by the hard rock quartet. Van Halen II was the band's five times platinum sophomore album. With vocals by the wildly entertaining David Lee Roth, the guitar masterwork of Eddie Van Halen and the irreplaceable rhythm section of drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist/backing vocalist Michael Anthony, Van Halen were one of the late '70s and early '80s greatest rock 'n' roll bands. Mastering engineer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums at Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios, was enlisted for this new version. In order to produce the original sound the band intended, Bellman cut straight from the quarter-inch tapes.
