About this product
Chelleri is far older than any other symphonist in our series. In his Corpus, the symphony understood in a modern sense, is the accomplishment of a long path of research and transformation of style. When Chelleri did deal with Inchmodern symphoniesInch, counting himself among the proponents of the new instrumental music, after having written mainly plays and harpsichords as well as old-style symphonies, he no longer resided in the Duchy of Parma, where he was born, but in northern Europe, in Germany and in Sweden. Chelleri was a great imitator, and these InchSix new symphoniesInch are clearly six stylistic studies on the new trends in vogue in Europe in the 1730s and 1740s.

In 1984 Frank Zappa released an album titled Francesco Zappa, unknowingly becoming the first contemporary interpreter of the work of this unknown Milanese author, and effectively marking the beginning of his rediscovery. It was an incredible fate that of Francesco Zappa who, after a long life of success and honors in the Dutch and German courts, died in poverty and even experienced a kind of Inchdamnatio memoriaeInch due to the contempt shown to him by Leopold Mozart.

Those who have been following the discography of the Milan Symphony Archive for years will know that Atalanta Fugiens has already released three discs dedicated to the music of Brioschi. That will be the subject of a future re- by Urania; this album, on the other hand, contains previously unrecorded pieces and is the natural continuation of a work of rediscovery undertaken years ago.
