Various Artists - Bear Family Records Rocks 2 (Various Artists) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

At last, they're back! La Section Rythmique, the fabulous group whose stars were always behind the scenes, namely David Blenkhorn, Guillaume Nouaux and Sebastien Girardot. Catapulted to the front of the stage with the of their first album - it was Record of the Year for Jazz Magazine in 2015 - the group has played countless concerts and done many recordings since then with the likes of Cecile McLorin Salvant, Evan Christopher, Scott Hamilton, Lillian Boutté or Jason Marsalis among others. La Section Rythmique has moved away from the New Orleans material of their first recording and taken swing and bop directions. And since only musicians of this band's calibre could allow themselves guests like these, they've gone into the studio with two giants of the saxophone American star Harry Allen and young Italian player Luigi Grasso. Only La Section Rythmique could provide such an amazing setting and rival the playing of their two guest soloists. Don't miss this album! Album Tracks 1. You 'N' Me 2. In the Still of the Night 3. Birth of the Blues 4. Day Dream 5. Wes' Tune 6. One for Duke 7. Blues Up and Down 8. New Orleans 9. Step Right Up 10. I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance with You

Chuck Berry and Little Richard show why they're regarded as the fathers of rock and roll, though their forefathers Big Joe Turner, Amos Milburn, and Roy Milton and His Solid Senders illustrate that jumping R&B thrived long before the emergence of either one of them. The set offers plenty of rocking blues via Jimmy Reed, Little Junior Parker, Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup, Champion Jack Dupree, and Slim Harpo, encompasses the era's top vocal groups in the '50s R&B field with The Coasters, Drifters, Midnighters, Inch5Inch Royales, and Cadillacs, and pays loving tribute to the best lounge acts ever with storming entries by The Treniers and Louis Prima. Get ready to rock, jump, and roll with this one! 1-CD (Digipak) with 36
