With eight albums on dB Productions since 2005, guitarist Mårten Falk is one of the most recorded artists on this tag. His solo albums have been internationally praised, not least by Classical Guitar Magazine. This time his wife, soprano Ingrid Falk, joins him, as well as Åsa Karlberg and the Swedish Soloist Prize winner Per Gross (recorder) in 20th and 21st Century music by some of Sweden's most celebrated woman composers. They range from Sweden's grand old lady Carin Malmlöf-Forssling (1916-2005) to young Andrea Tarrodi (born 1981), whose string quartets won Sweden's most prestigious music award in 2018, the Swedish Grammis Award (InchClassical Album of the Year). Swedish guitarist Mårten Falk studied at the Conservatory of the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris under Alberto Ponce. He has toured across Europe, Asia, and North America, and collaborates with composers from all over the world.

A new dynamic Italian Baroque Orchestra makes it's debut with symphonies that aren't mainstream. As they name indicates, they choose to swim against the current and explore hidden gems of the repertoire. But not only are they original, young and full of dynamic energy, the result is simply stunningly good and makes this music come alive as if those pieces were presented here for the first time. The group has chosen four of Bach's sons, all born between 1710 and 1735 and programmed their exploration of the then new genre between c.1755 and c.1770, when the five Sinfonie recorded here were composed. Three keywords are essential Galant Italian style, German Empfindsamer style and the European Sturm und Drang movement. It's all about cantabile and sensitivity in the first two cases and about unbridled emotions announcing the romantic era in the third one... In conclusion, with these five rarely-heard symphonies by four of Bach's sons, the Controcorrente Orchestra offers a captivating insight into the mid-eighteenth-century symphony repertoire across Northern Germany and England, which is quite representative of a genre that we too often know only through it's later and most famous Viennese protagonists, Haydn and Mozart.
