It started in Miami, quite by accident as a matter of fact. While experimenting with a new piece of equipment; the Roland 808 drum machine, producer Amos Larkins II accidentally left the sustain setting up on the bass knob while recording a track. The track was pressed on a 12Inch single and Amos carried a bunch to a local Mom & Pop store. When the owner put the 12Inch on the turntable, Amos thought to himself Inchoh damn, I left the sustain up on the bass knobInch, but a few seconds into the track everyone in the store began grooving to the cut, saying things like InchWow, what is THAT,? that's hot! Etc.Inch Three people immediately went up to the counter and bought copies of the 12Inch. This unexpected reaction caused Amos to pursue the technique further, which eventually caused the industry to follow suit and the Miami Electro Bass scene was born. Recently, the famed producer went through his immense archive and put together a collection of lost tracks and rarities from that era and rediscovered the excitement of the Electro Bass movement. Included here are some nuggets from the era heard for the first time, and rare mixes of some well known hits such as Connie's InchFunky Little Beat,Inch and Import #1's InchSet It Off,Inch resulting in a fresh new look at the early productions that started the movement. All selections newly remastered.

Zach Golub Rosen was an exceptional acoustic and electric bass player credited on more than a dozen albums. His songwriting was largely unknown outside a small circle of friends and family. He played about ten Syzygy gigs in small NYC venues, sometimes solo, sometimes with a band that included his friend Connor Grant on guitar. Connor is also a guitarist in Sean Ono Lennon's band, The GOASTT. In 2018, Zack approached Connor about producing his Syzygy project. They were deep into that project at the time of Zack's death, by suicide in 2019, at the age of 30, leaving the record to be finished posthumously. Throughout that process, as Connor combed through Zack's home bedroom recordings, many more songs were unearthed that no one had heard but Zack. InchA truly brilliant artist. Zack's songs are astonishing and original. He had a peculiar, poetic, and playful mind.Inch - Sean Ono Lennon (Chimera Music)
