About this product

Johann Sebastian Bach was known by the contemporaries as a great expert in the art of organ building, and above all, as an incomparable virtuoso to the instrument. There are testimonies of his mastery and precision, his improvisational capacity, and there are also some acts of tests he performed. His concerts alternated various types of compositions and, knowing the vastness of musical culture of the Supreme Master, it is easy to imagine how he could use it to improvise in all styles of the time. Having at our disposal for this an organ the embraces a geographical tradition-in particular those Italian and German-organist Davide Pozzi wanted to recreate a hypothetical concert performed by Bach in the Italian style. The Italian harpsichordist, fortepianist, organist and conductor, Davide Pozzi, got the diploma with full marks of harpsichord, fortepiano and clavichord, and organ and organ composition at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan. At the same conservatoire he got a first-class degree in organ. Davide Pozzi held the organ post at the ancient Basilica di S. Vittore al Corpo in Milan for 13 years. Already a harpsichord teacher at the Cesena Conservatory, he is currently Professor of Theory, Rhythmic and musical perception, Basso continuo and harpsichord practice at the Conservatorio G. Verdi di Como.

Markus Reuter - Sun Trance - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Supported by an eleven-piece ensemble cast, Markus Reuter embarks on a most ambitious project of sorts. Recorded in front of a live audience in Mannheim, Germany, in 2017, InchSun TranceInch could perhaps best be described as a sort of trance-avantgarde-psychedelic sonic hybrid. His enticing textural work aside, Markus Reuter's guitar work has never sounded bigger or more commanding. His huge, shrieking overdriven tones carry the music to some shimmering (and pleasantly surprising) heights. The guitar passages expose complexities, nuance and harmonic possibilities that reflect not only the perspective of an imaginative, intuitive improviser, but also the insight and acumen of a profound composer. You can get lost in this music, but, rest assured, it will find you. Essential feeding for the more ravenous, yet refined, of progressive and avant-garde packs.

Various Artists - Bande Italiane / Various - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

La banda is the organic concept of an Italian orchestra that is without strings, relying completely on wind instruments and percussion. In the late 19th century there was not a town, city or community that did not have at least one banda. According to conservative estimates, Italy still has at least 5,000. In Italian, banda means not just a local brass band, but also a gang of bandits. It is surely no coincidence that musicians who are more likely to come from the alternative music scene also use this ambiguity to express what differentiates them from the rest. What is emerging is neither a revival nor a revolution, it is much more.
