Various Artists - Eccentric Soul: The Way Out Label / Various - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Eccentric Soul TWINIGHT'S LUNAR ROTATION takes a look beyond their hit maker Syl Johnson, and instead focuses on the records that never had a shot at the charts. It's the story of struggling disc jockeys moonlighting as producers, high school talent show winners, major tag cast offs, minor tag upgrades, girlfriends with decent voices and master purchases traded for chart position. It happened after midnight and it happened right here in our backyard. Comprising 40 tracks in all by 22 artists, among them Renaldo Domino, Dynamic Tints, Annet Poindexter, Nate Evans, Radiants and many more, this two CD set includes a complete tag history, a bakers dozen of unpublished photos and three unreleased tracks, including two that were only rumored to exist.

Short for InchCapital City Soul,Inch the Capsoul tag of Columbus, Ohio only put out a dozen 45s and one LP in five years. But it was enough their legend was intact, and you'll know why this collection is getting so much attention when you lay your ears on these priceless pieces of '70s soul Who Knows Marion Black; Sock It to 'Em Soul Brother Bill Moss; You Can't Blame Me Johnson, Hawkins, Tatum & Durr, and 16 more!

Brin Charette is an organ player who has deeply studied the tradition of the instrument and the legends that came before him, yet is constantly pushing the envelope of the instrument's role in modern jazz. This new album, his 20th as a leader, sees Brian focussing on originals inspired by the classic role of the Hammond B3 in jazz & some of it's originators, including Larry Young and Jimmy Smith.
